The Boot Slippers
= = = = = = = = =
Last year my sister purchased some cable knit boot slippers for me from Primark, these were really comfortable, how-ever they fell apart rather quickly. Ever since then I have wanted to buy myself another pair as these are great to wear around the house during the winter. I have looked at various different places including New Look and other fashion/clothing websites; how-ever I haven't really found anything I like. I didn't want to buy another really cheap pair from Primark as I wanted something that was going to last a bit longer this time. I looked on the Republic website (what a mistake this was £80 later!) and saw these Cable Knit Boots slippers which I thought looked really cute and they were exactly what I was looking for. The cosy cable knit boots slippers have a white fur lining keeping your feet nice and warm during the cold months. The slippers come in 2 colours, which are Grey and Navy. Although the Navy one's would have probably been more sensible to buy due to the darker colour I much preferred the look of the grey one's so I purchased them rather than the Navy colour. The boots come in size S, M and L. I am normally a size 5 in shoes so I went for the M sized slippers. The slippers are priced at £12.00 which isn't cheap for slippers but it isn't too expensive either and I didn't mind paying this for a good quality pair of boot slippers that would keep my feet warm during the winter nights.
The boots are a lovely light grey colour made from a knitted material with 2 wooden buttons on the outer side of the boots for decoration. The Soul Cal badge/logo is on the back of the boots. The boots have a white fluffy lining inside which is extremely soft. The bottom of the boots has spots on them for extra grip when walking about in them. When I put the boots on I was surprised at how small they actually came up. They fit my feet without feeling too tight, how-ever this was a very close fit so if you buy these then you may want to get the next size up. The boots felt extremely comfortable and weren't too tight around my feet or ankles. The bottom of the boot is made from thick foam like material (at a guess), so it feels extremely bouncy and soft when walking in the boots for the first time. Your feet will eventually get used to this and the foam will shape a little into the shape of the bottom of your feet. I have been wearing the boots around the house and they keep my feet lovely and warming during the cold evening (where my dad doesn't like to put the heating on). Sometimes when wearing socks I find my feet can get a bit too warm, which I hate so when I'm on the sofa I sometimes take the boots off to air my feet a little. The boots have taken shape to my feet and I can see this from the indents on the inside of my boots where my heel sits.
I'm not sure how long the boots will last and I'm not actually expecting them to last any longer than a good half a year of wearing them as I think the foam in the bottom of the boot will flatten rather quickly when wearing them daily around the house. Obviously these boots are not made for wearing outside so I could not suggest this otherwise your boots may end up rather damp and dirty looking. In terms of value I don't think the price of these is too bad as they have and will last a lot longer than the one's purchased for me from Primark. There are lots of boots slippers around and I prefer the look of these compared to any others which are around. Whether you buy these for yourself or as a gift for someone I sure you or the person they have been purchased for will love them and get some good use out of them.
