      A nice shoe!

I love plain black heels but looking around the shops it was really hard to find something plain, court with not too high heels on them as I am tall anyway in the shops! I spotted these whilst browsing on the Kay & Co website (wwwwkay&co.com) at £22.00 a pair, with no obligation to keep them and no delivery or return charges I felt ordering these and wearing them on carpet for a bit (to see if they hurt me!) was a good idea!

This design of shoe only comes in one colour and that is a deep, dark black with an almost cracked leather outer to them which is quite shiny though not patent and or/easily marked/scuffed. Materials used are not given on the shoe or on the website and in the paper catalogue we can get we are not told either which is a little odd!

In sizes 3-8 with no half sizes available I opted for the size 5 which I usually am and in my humble opinion these are really true to size. These are nicely and smartly finished with a grey shiny bottom sole to the shoe in which we are told who they are by and the size is stated.

These have a 3 inch heel which is reasonably thick. I mean it isn't a stiletto heel but it isn't too thick but when you stand on it weight gets evenly kind of distributed rather than feeling your standing on a point. The toe is slightly rounded though not bluntly a round and I guess this is why it is called 'Almond' cos the toe is shaped like one end of one of those really!

This shoe has no real softness on the inside of it though mine are comfortably enough to be fair to them. The sides of the inner shoe feel like leather, with tights or stocking around the base of the foot it is able to slide about a bit, so getting the right size is really important of course. Sadly the shoe has no inner padding but I find these to be ok on because the heel isn't too big!

The base of the shoe is rubberised and black with lines through each to give a little grip and each one has a thick black heel grip on the base and these do come with a set of spares to should you want to get them re heeled.

Waterproof enough though you shouldn't treat them like wellies these are easy to wipe clean and care for and all in all I think these are rather good. Mine are not uncomfortable I've had no issues with them at all and they certainly don't hurt me and support my foot well enough and have kept really well despite wearing them an awful lot!

      Available from K & Co.
