I bought a pair of Superdry GT flip flops at the end of May and to begin with I thought I would literally be living in them for most of the summer but unfortunately we all know what happened with our supposed summer so they didn't get nearly as much wear as I thought they would. It just means that they are still looking good enough for me to store in the cupboard in anticipation for the no doubt glorious summer that we are going to get in 2013.
I bought them from the house of Fraser where they cost me £14.99. They are available for both men and women and come in a variety of different colour combinations. The pair that I have are a dark grey almost khaki colour with blue writing on them.
They are made from a mixture of EVA foam and rubber and are a thong design. The foam is lovely and spongy and really comfortable on my feet when walking. They are amazingly light and it hardly feels as though I am wearing anything with these on my feet.
The Superdry quality is there as these look and feel like good quality and they don't feel as though they will snap in half with the slightest pressure. I'm a big fan of Superdry and although they tend to be more expensive than most high street brands it is true that you get what you pay for as their products are usually excellently made and durable as well as being fashionable and these flip flops are no exception.
I like the design on the flip flops in that they are seriously branded on the soul with a massive Superdy logo which can look a bit tacky but as soon as you actually wear them the logo is covered and you are left with a much more subtle logo on the strap. Talking of the strap it is one of the most comfortable of any flip flop I have worn and even the bit that goes in between my toes doesn't chaff or pinch.
Walking in these flip flops compared to some cheaper ones I have worn isn't even comparable in terms of the level of comfort. Cheaper ones chaff at my toes and can give me blisters not to mention the fact that they are usually so thin that stepping on anything while walking such as a pebble or stone is agony. These give my feet much better cushioning and I can be assured that I won't hurt my sole from walking on something that I shouldn't have.
£14.99 might seem like a lot for what is essentially just some foam and rubber but I personally think they are worth the money and as soon as you wear them you will also see that they are much better quality and your feet deserve to be cushioned in something better than cheap thing foam. If we get some hot weather next year I will appreciate the fact I can wear these and stop my feet from being sweaty and stifling in shoes.
I am a big Superdry fan and as soon as I saw these flip flops I knew I had to buy a pair. I bought them back in April I believe and at the time I think this was the only colour that my preferred store had. However this was not a problem for me because as pink is my favourite colour, bright pink especially, it is more than likely that I would have chosen this colour anyway. I bought these from very for £15 which I think is very reasonable for a branded pair of flip flops.
Looking online a few days ago I now see that there are numerous colours available and these can be purchased for both men and women. Colours include pink, purple, white, blue, black and many more. On the official Superdry website these can be purchased for just £14.99 and they usually give free postage so this is great. The flip flops are offered in the standard British numerical sizes which made life a bit easier for me as when you have a choice of small, medium or large I never really know what to go for.
The flip flops arrived in a clear plastic bag. They had branded swing tags which I found easy to remove so they were on my feet within seconds.
The flip flops are made of a foamy material but this is a little firmer than some cheaper flip flops you can buy. There is large Superdry branding where your sole goes and on mine this is a cream colour which I think goes well with the shocking pink. This logo in actually indented into the material which initially I was a bit worried may be uncomfortable. The straps are made of a strong pink plastic and these have some Japanese written on them in a deep purple.
The flip flops are quite wide which is great for summer if your feet get hot or you go in the pool or sea. The first time I wore these I was pleased with them. They didn't rub my feet at all and the base provided me with a soft, smooth and springy base which meant my feet were comfortable. I have worn these on rocky terrain and the base absorbs a lot of pressure which allows them to remain comfortable.
I have never experienced any problems with these. I have worn them in the heat and even in the rain and never have they rubbed. They are comfortable and I find them easy to walk in with no sore or achy feet afterwards.
I do like the appearance of these as I like the colour and the branding. However there is one tiny thing that I worry about and that is that as said previously they are quite wide. However, once these are on I noticed even they do look a bit slimmer.
I have had these about four months now and I am happy with them. I like the design and they are very comfortable however I do tend to choose my Ugg flip flops over these purely because they are my favourites!
I think that these provide very good value for money and I currently have my eyes on a white pair with light pink branding. They are comfortable and stylish and I would definitely recommend them.
