~*~*~ Superga 2750 Leopard Print Lace Up Shoes ~*~*~
~ Who/what is Superga? ~
Superga are a company that specialises in shoes, it is now well over 100 years old with them first being introduced in 1911, when the Superga factory started to produce shoes with a vulcanized rubber sole and that is when the Superga 2750 Heritage style was born.
They now have a great range of shoes in more or less the same style but with a massive range of colours. The 2750's remain a popular choice however there are other ranges to choose from such as -
Infants and Children's ranges.
They are not a cheap shoe but they are great quality.
~ Why did I buy Superga's ~
I recently won a £150 Amazon voucher and of course it needed spending, I was very tempted to buy myself a pair of leopard print Converse shoes but they would have cost in the region of £60. I simply couldn't justify spending that much on myself knowing full well it was my little one's birthday soon, so I had a look around for a pair of shoes/daps/trainers that took my fancy and it was on Amazon I spotted these.
Initially the price put me off as they were available at the price of £55.00, and I am guessing they were this high due to the name Rita Ora being in the title, so I searched for them without the name of the celeb and found them at a much more respectable price of £29.99.
Why did Rita Ora's name bump up the price you may ask?
Well she was chosen by Superga to be the face of their styles and she chose certain styles to add to her collection (I think) and these were included in that. If you go onto www. superga.co.uk you will find a tab that takes you to shoes in the current collection under her name.
So anyway, the price was my main factor in buying them and I thought they were gorgeous.
I love, love, love shoes, a massive shoe fan/hoarder and I really loved these.
They are a leopard print however the leopard print is actually in a very dark navy as opposed to the browns and black that it usually coloured in. The underneath colour or base colour is a creamy colour and they go together really well.
All of the material is in this pattern and the laces are cream, the rubber sole of the shoe is cream with the actual base of the sole being the orangy colour vulcanized rubber. They have a fair weight to them and feel very well made. On the back of the sole is a small Superga logo, again this is very secure and doesn't feel like it would fall off!
~ Out of the box and onto my feet ~
As I ordered from Amazon I had to wait for them to be delivered and this was very quick with them coming to me just a day after ordering them. I opened up the parcel bag and revealed a Superga shoe box. The box is predominately white in colour with the Superga logo and an image of a 2750 shoe, the shoes inside were neatly wrapped in tissue paper.
I opened up the box and the laces were already in the shoes in the way I would have them so it was simply out of the box and onto my feet and they were so comfy despite the heavy weight I felt whilst handling them, I assumed they could feel a little clunky on my feet but they were not at all and were incredibly comfortable.
~ Wear and wash well? ~
Since having these shoes I will admit to wearing them a lot, I have worn them in the sun and also in the rain and with them having the cream shade on the rubber they did look a little tatty so I popped them in the washing machine on a 30°C cycle and they came out like new. The soles are brilliant and despite the fact that I have worn them so much show no wear at all.
I popped them on the radiator to dry and they were fine.
~ Overall ~
Since buying these shoes I have also bought another pair directly from the Superga website in a neon pink shade and also a pair for my little one in a lovely green colour, both of mine are the 2750's and have laces but his despite being the 2750's have velcro straps which I think is great for kids. I bought mine in the Superga sale and paid £15 for my pink ones and £12.50 for my son's however these were massively reduced as the infants shoes usually cost £40!
The sizing is spot on I have found, with both of my pairs being a size 5. I do however think that my leopard print ones have a better fit due to the material used, the pink ones are canvas whilst the leopard print are more like a cotton so are a bit looser but I am sure with wear I will break the pink ones in.
I love these shoes, I love the trendy pattern and they look great with leggings, jeans, shorts, dresses etc. They are so comfy and so easy to wear.
I love them, I do not have a bad point to add at all although I have seen people mention the sizes have been an issue for them. I didn't find this, I am a size 5 and so I bought size 5 shoes and they fit me perfectly.
I would recommend these shoes.
