As I knew I was going away in summer I really wanted a nice beach bag for our holiday, and being in Central London there are mainly a lot of expensive, named brand shops around and one of the shops I popped in was Ted Baker. They had a large tote bag which came with their flip flops for £50 but this was far more than my budget! Then one day, when all the Summer sales started around easter I browsed in there and the set had gone down to only £20 and since it was payday I decided to treat myself! Considering to buy the flip flops alone are £35 this was a bargain I really couldn't resist! The flip flops I have are just a simple flip flop which are made from PVC plastic (polyvinyl chloride if you want to be posh!) with the standard style rubber strap to separate the big toe from the rest and gives support across the top of the foot to secure it against the sole. Mine are pink, white and orange striped as they were the summer range and they have the Ted baker logo in the centre with a bow. They look quite nice, but do not look very premium as they look cheap, smell very plasticky and I certainly wouldn't have paid full whack for these! The sole of these is quite thin, although not as thin as other flip flops I have owned in the past. I have worn these a few times and unsurprisingly they weren't the most comfortable flip flop I've ever owned! I find they rub between the big toe and especially in hot weather the plastic-ness is jut really uncomfortable and not the easiest to plod along in. In terms of sizing they come in usual sizes and mine are a 5 and fit perfectly so there is no issue there. To be honest I didn't end up wearing these much on holiday a) because of them being predominantly pink and I don't actually wear much pink! and b) they aren't the most comfortable flip flop going. Considering Ted Baker have the cheek to sell them individually for £35 I think they are way overpriced and I'm glad I got mine in a matching beach bag set for £20 or I'd slap myself silly! They do look stylish and are versatile, but in the end they are really an expensive flip flop that won't see the light of day unless I go on holiday!
It is fair to say that I am in love with the Ted Baker brand and all of the quirky bow designs on their accessories. After being the proud owner of a make up bag and small tote bag, I was ready to purchase my next addition the the collection. I have just returned back from a lovely holiday, and before going I was sure to pick up some of their lovely flip flops. I had seen them on their website and just had to order them! ***PRICE*** At first I was reluctant to spend £35.00 on a pair of flip flops, but this is expected for Ted Baker. These then went into the sale where I only paid £25.00. They also lovely shoes, so well worth the money if you have it. I purchased mine direct from the Ted Baker website. These are also sold in their stores, as well as in House of Fraser, Selfridges and some other stores. ***STYLES*** Every year, Ted Baker update their flip flop range to keep up with the current trends. I purchased mine just before they changed the sale. They continue the jelly style flip flop with their famous bow throughout all the styles. The newer style shows the bow placed on the side of the flip flop rather than at the front by your toes. The ones I purchased display the bow at the front with a gold stud on the front. Older designs will vary slightly. They often sell a wide range of shades from bright neon yellows and pinks, to more pastel shades. My 'Polee' flip flops are baby pink all over, including the bow. Then the sole of them is covered with a beautiful floral design. Regardless of which colour you go for, it is easy to spot they are Ted Baker's! ***PACKAGING*** It sounds silly to comment on the packaging, and I know that many people whizz straight past this information, but I really felt that this needed to be added! The lovely flip flops comes in a lovely clear, plastic case with a print of a watermelon on the front. It also says 'Sweet Treats'. I think this is nice because it can be reused. If you order from Ted Baker on their website it comes inside a lovely big Ted Baker box which can also be reused. ***THE FLIP FLOPS*** I was really excited to take these on my holiday, and I have to admit that I purchased them more to wear of a night time rather than the day. These are also great for wearing on sunny days in the UK. The flip flops are really lovely, and of a very good quality. I am a size 5, and I found that they were very true to size. I was a little worried that my feet can be a bit wide, but they still fit comfortably. For comfort, I could not fault these flip flops. They really are comfortable for long periods of wear, and they do not rub at all which is great. This shows their quality. I loved to wear these with dresses and shorts, but they could easily be teamed with a whole range of outfits. They also look great with beachwear. One thing I must state is that these can be a bit slippy. As these are the jelly style flip flops, it is expected. There is a bit of grip on the bottom of these, so they do hold well on surfaces, but I just found that they were a bit too slippy to wear around the pool area. I did not fall in them, but I just didn't feel 100% safe around the pool with them on. This could be annoying for some people, as this is wear flip flops are worn most often, but apart from this I found them great and practical. ***WOULD I RECOMMEND?*** I would recommend buying these flip flops if you do really want them. I had been lusting after these for ages, so I felt that the price was justified. They are not the most practical flip flops, but they really make an outfit look great and I have had compliments with these. I like them more for night time wear, but if you are buying them for around pools and water parks on holiday, do not take these! That is the only fault I could find with them, and it did not bother me too greatly. I am happy with these, and I am ready to take them on my next holiday already...whenever that will be! Thanks for reading!
I had had my eye on these Ted Baker flip flops for some time and 3 weeks ago while shopping with my mum I decided to buy them. The colour I went for was pink and orange although they also had them in black and white as well, I got them from a local shop where they cost me £35.00. The bow detail flip flops are made from a PVC/plastic material which is very shiny the flip flop is a bright pink colour which I love. The front of the flip flop is decorated with a bow, this is done in he same shiny PVC/plastic material and has a little enamelled button stud in the middle of it which displays the Ted Baker initials in a gold colour. The actual bow is done in an orange colour with the little button stud being edged in gold and enamelled in pink to match the main part of the flip flop. The orange and pink are very contrasting, almost clashing yet they really seem to work on these sandals. The foot of the flip flops has the Ted Baker logo written along them. The shop I bought my bow detail flip flops from had them available in sizes 4 to 7 there were no half sizes. I bought a 6 which is my regular size and they fitted perfectly. The flip flops are the toe post design and the actual toe post is rounded so it fits comfortably between my toes. They are flat with no heel at all making them really easy to walk in all day and evening. I am really pleased with my Ted Baker flip flops, the colours are great and go with so many different clothes. I wear mine with shorts, skirt, trousers/crops and maxi dresses, they just seem to go with anything. They have a real summer holiday feel to them. I have worn my flip flops a lot since I've had them and from the first time I wore them I haven't suffered any rubbing or soreness from them at all. They are simple to keep clean just a quick wipe over with a damp cloth then a dry one and they look as good as new. If you wear flip flops or are thinking of a late summer holiday then I would definitely recommend the Bow Detail Flip Flops from Ted Baker, they are a little bit on the pricey side but in my opinion worth the money as they are so comfy on the feet and look great too. They would be really good for a holiday and in my opinion would look good enough to wear in the daytime and evenings. Ted Baker also do a lovely bag to complement these flip flops.
DISASTER!!! One of my 4 dogs, I suspect one of the 2 puppies have knawed at my Teddie Baker flip flops and the plastic bit (that you put your toe through) is now hanging on for dear life, as the puppy will be when I find out which one it was! Seriorusly though, I was devostated as I wear these all the time. I find them perfect to wear with jeans, for a cute look or with your PJs / Trackies etc if you are just nipping out or obviously with beachwear which I havent been lucky enough to. They also look amazing with a maxi dress although my maxi dresses are very busy and colourful so dont always match colour-wise. What the picture doesnt demonstrate is the bright vidid colours of the flip flop. The pink is a deep dark sexy pinky purple and the orange bow is like a vibrant rusty burnt orange - really unusual colours that jazz up a plain outfit anytime of year. The whole shoe is made from plastic but does not look cheap, you can tell that they are a good make and are of good quality. They are really well made and are surprisingly sturdy and tough for a flip-flop. They are comfy to walk round in, I have been on many a pub crawl wearing these although that putting something between your toe thing I will never get used to and I do take these off at the earliest opportunity. I have never had any blisters from them but I find my calfs ache the morning after wearing these all day probably as they are so flat. They are very pricey, as with most Ted Baker products and I think that mine cost £30 from Amazon. I only bought them as my mate was ordering the black and white ones for her hols and I loved the colour of these. I would never pay that much for a pair of flippies normally but I am glad I did - I just hope they hold out a little longer. may also appear on ciao
I am over the moon with these deep pink flip flops with bow detail which I purchased four weeks ago for my holiday to Spain this summer! I really love Ted Baker clothing, shoes and accesssories and especially garments that have bows included in the design in some way. So, as you can imagine when I saw these elegant, summer flips flops in deep pink with a detailed bow in a lighter shade of orange, I just had to buy them! I am pleased with them because you can wear them with a combination of outfits including jeans and a summer top or T Shirt, shorts and a top or T shirt, a summer dress or a skirt and a summer top or T shirt. These summer flip flops are branded with a pretty, sophisticated Ted Baker stud. The chunky bow itself is a lighter shade of orange which is attatched to the toe strap. I have other bow accessories also from Ted Baker and these summer flip flops combine well with them. As far as fabric and content is concerned, these fashionable summer flip flops on the upper part are made from PVC and the lower sole is also made from PVC. These Ted Baker flip flops are great to wear for most summer social occasions and also are available in other colours which include black, orange and a natural tone. The shoe sizing of these flip flops is just right and the shoe width is true to the sizes they have available. It goes without saying that these trendy summer Ted Baker flip flops have an attractive design. They are also extremely comfortable to wear on your feet. The quality of the flip flops is good despite the fact they are made from PVC. Another advantage of these sun seeking flip flops is that they are light weight and so are easy to pack into any suitcase when you are off on your holidays. I love Ted Baker clothing and accessories because they are so very stylish and elegant and these summer flip flops are no exception to that rule. If you are driven by summer style, then these flips flops are certainly for you! I purchased my Ted Baker bow detailed flip flops directly from the Ted Baker web site for 35 pounds but, I have seen them in the Littlewoods web site for 38 pounds so it seems it pays to shop around a little. Considering that these flip flops are actually only made from PVC it is obvious that they are some what over priced. However, if you love Ted Baker and you love bow accessories like I do, then they are worth their weight in gold and will add a touch of class to any ladies summer wardrobe! When I tried on my Ted Baker summer flip flops with other out fits I knew that it was money well spent. So, go ahead get that trendy summer look and try a pair on today!
I decided to treat myself and buy a pair of these sandals for my trip to Majorca. Sun, Sea and Sand always requires some flips flops or sandals. I had a cheaper plastic pair of sandals last year that were great as they didn't hold sand and were great by the pool but as they were cheap and cheerful they didn't last another year. I saw these sandals and they called me. I don't know if it was the pretty cute design or the sleek block colours but I decided to treat myself. At £30.00 they really are a treat! I chose the black flip flops with the cream bow. Purely because I thought they would look better with swimwear that I had prepared for holiday. They also had them in bright pink with an orange bow, very pretty but very loud. I am sure they would look great with a sun tan! The Flip Flop itself is a strong and sturdy PVC type material that doesn't bend but is a little flexible. It is very smooth and has a pretty Ted Baker logo in gold on the top of the flip flop. The sturdy bow also has a little gold pin with TB engraved. The flip flops are more worthy to be called sandals because they look so sleek and feel well made. Not flimsy at all. The best thing about these flip flops is that there were made for the trials and tribulations of a beach holiday. They are sturdy enough to glide through the warm sand. They are study enough so that they stay on your feet but let the sand glide through. With a little tap any stuck sand soon floats away. A word of warning would be to keep them in the shade as the PVC / plastic gets very hot in the sun, although, on the plus side they cool down very quickly! Next to the pool they were also brilliant, they are waterproof and the water literally sweeps off them keeping my feet stylishly protected from the dirty floor and without becoming slippery on the sold of the shoe. I am a size 7 and they fitted perfectly. I would suggest making sure you try them on before buying them as if they are too small or too big the plastic will rub on the sole of your foot. Not a good thing! They look good and are very practical for the 'tough' weather conditions of a beach holiday. (If only every day was as tough!) However, the flip flops do have a slight downside. The little 'knobbly' bit that fits in-between your big toe and the toe next it (Making it a flip flop design) is not as padded as I would expect. It is the same PVC that the rest of the flip-flop is made with and does tend to rub after a while. I managed to get through most of the say with the flip-flops fine. Mainly because I was in and out of them and jumping into the sea! However, when it comes to strolling around the area the heat and my feet tend to not agree and they swell slightly. This then means the bit in-between my toes starts to rub. The one saviour is that you can slip them off and on super quick. But if you are thinking of doing more than just relaxing at the beach or the pool I don't think these would be very comfortable. They will start to rub there is no doubt about it. Overall, I still love these flip-flops and they are in great condition for me to wear them during the summer at home or my next holiday. I see them as a bit of an investment for £30.00 as a cheaper pair of flip flops could have been left behind after being battered with sand and sea water. But these lasted well and look as good as new. They are very pretty and stylish and make my feet feel treated; so long as I don't go on any long strolls they will do me just fine!
My sister bought me these flip flops earlier this year from Ted Baker for my birthday. I'd been eyeing them up whilst out shopping with her one day, and I decided against buying them as I couldn't decide which colour to get. She went back and chose the black flip flops with a cream bow for me. They also come in; cream with a black bow, pink with a peach bow (pictured), and orange with a darker orange bow. I think that she chose the right colour as they will go with everything. The flip flops are a really funky design, they are a shiny PVC with a toe post, with the contrasting bow sitting on top of the toe post which is also made from PVC. In the middle of the bow is a little black enamel stud, with gold edging, and TB for Ted Baker in Italic on the top. They are very simple and sleek looking, and even though they are just a pair of flip flops they do actually look quite expensive and classy. They were actually quite expensive for a pair of flip flops at £35.00 I was initially over the moon with these as she'd remembered that I loved them, and I would have bought them myself had I not been so indecisive about the colour. They actually go with a whole host of things; they look good with a maxi dress, or even a shorter dress and leggings, they look lovely with jeans or shorts, they look equally as good with maxi skirt or a shorter skirt. They are very versatile and you can dress them up or down. Unfortunately they are not actually very comfortable to wear for any length of time. The main problem is that because they are a shiny PVC, they actually get very slippery if your feet get hot, so much so that it becomes difficult to walk in them as your feet are slipping and sliding about all over the place. This in turn then makes the toe post between your toes rub as well. I never normally have problems with flip flops at all, and normally the toe posts don't bother me at all. Another problem I found when wearing these for a while is that because the two straps which hold the flip flops on your feet start from much further back on the flip flops than you would expect them to start, then these straps also rub the sides of your feet again when your feet start to get hot. I do love these flip flops and I think that they look fab on, I've not relegated them to the back of the wardrobe yet because as long as I don't wear them for long, or my feet don't get hot then they are fine. I find that I just wear them for short periods of time now, unfortunately I'm not going to be able to wear them all day. This is a real shame as they are gorgeous flip flops that I'd love to be able to get lots of use out of, but doesn't look like it's going to be the case. Size wise they are true to size, I have them in my regular size 5. Looks wise I'd give these flip flops 5 stars. Id' knock a star off as I think that they are overpriced, although I do actually think that all Ted Baker stuff is overpriced. I'd knock another star off for the fact that I can't actually wear these if my feet get hot and slippy. So unfortunately only 3 stars for these in the end.
Ted Baker has become a recent obsession of mine after popping into their store in Nottingham a few months ago. Their flip flops caught my eye and they became the first item of many in my shopping bag that day! ** The Brand ** Most of us will be familiar with Ted Baker as they have been around for quite some time actually, since 1987 when they began in Glasgow as a specialist shirt company. You may recognise the name due to their clothing, perfume or gift sets that are often all often Boots stores at Christmas time. They supply both womens and mens clothing in a contemporary style that is fairly high end compared to other high street brands, yet it is still largely affordable for the most part. ** The flip flops! ** Their design, for me, is absolutely spot on. They are very quirky looking with a large bow that contrasts against the colour. I purchased mine in black, with a white bow but they are also available mostly in white with a black bow, mostly in pink with an orange bow or mostly in orange with a darker orange/red bow. The bow almost looks like it has been formed and placed on top, as appose to an actual bow on a shoe lace for example. In the middle of the bow, is the logo abbreviated to TB which has been etched in but isn't entirely obvious and you have to look for it. The fabric content is PVC for both the sole and the upper part which sits between your toe. I am not usually a huge fan of such a design as I find they often irritate my toes, but the material is quite flexible and made me think otherwise on this occasion. On Ted Bakers website they are stocked in sizes 3 to 8 and you also have the option to check which sizes are available in your local store. They come in a large green box with the Ted Baker logo and design on the front, with sufficient packaging for the flip flops to avoid them getting damaged between buying them and getting them home! ** Pricing and Availability ** You will find these flip flops on the Ted Baker website (www.tedbaker.com) and similarly in their stores. As they have a lot of concessions in department stores like John Lewis, they will probably be available there too. They are quite pricey for a pair of flip flops at £35, however I managed to justify this as they have a lot more to them than a normal flip flop and are in fact more like a sandal. It may though be worth checking Amazon or eBay to see if you can pick them up any cheaper. ** Testing them out! ** So, I took these on holiday to Thailand with me where as you can imagine, it is very hot. I took them down to the beach and they remained equally as comfortable as what they were when I tried them on in the shop, even after a bit of walking. I was pleased with the choice of material, as because it has a slippery smooth texture, the flip flops don't hold a whole beach worth of sand in them which is possible to get rid of. In fact, quite the opposite as a little tap takes them back to normal. I did find after wearing them for some time that the bit between my big and second toe started to rub a little, but it wasn't to the point that I got a blister or had to take them off so it didn't bother me too much. I decided to wear them on my flight home as it was going to be very long (15 hours to be precise, boo hoo!) and I wanted something I could just slip on and off easily to keep me comfortable. However that was possible the worst decision I made. They started out fine, but as soon as I was in an air conditioned area such as the airport or on the plane, the PVC seemed to react badly with my feet and create as odd moisture that I can only put down to the environment being cold, me being a little hot and the PVC material. Without being too descriptive, it wasn't sweat as after half the flight had passed my feet were absolutely freezing (I didn't think I would need socks!) and it was still happening. After I had got off the flight and got back into a normal environment it was still happening to the point it was actually difficult to walk without nearly falling over. ** Summary ** I was quite disappointed with these flip flops as it all started out so well! This isn't an issue I have ever had with flip flops in the past, although admittedly PVC would not be my first choice of material and I think that is largely where the blame lies although I could be wrong. It certainly wont prevent me from wearing them, but unfortunately I might just have to use them around the house or in the garden as during short time periods, I don't seem to have a problem with them. On reflection though, it seems to be a lot to pay for an item I can't confidently go out in. On that basis, I can only score them 2/5 Dooyoo stars which is a real shame as they don't live up to the standard of other products I have tried from Ted Baker. Perhaps it is just that their clothes are better than their accessories!
