my feet are definitely hot in these Sa'fire' shoes

My sister bought me these gorgeous little Ted Baker Safire ballerina pumps for Christmas. I'd been eyeing them up whilst out shopping with her one day, and I decided against buying them as I couldn't decide which colour to get. She went back and chose the black shoes with a silver glitter bow for me (the colour pictured above). They also came in; red with a darker red glitter bow, burgundy with a darker burgundy glitter bow, gold with a black glitter bow, and cream with a bronze glitter bow. I think that she chose the right colour as these will go with everything.

The ballerina pumps are a really funky design, they are made from a shiny PVC material, and they are completely flat ballet pumps. The heels of the pumps have little silver metallic 'Ted Baker London' logo plaques attached. The round toed fronts of the pumps have the funky silver glitter bows attached, they are quite big bows and they do overhang the edges of the shoes slightly. I like that the bows are so big though as they make the shoes look really quirky and unusual and stand out. I've had loads of lovely compliments whilst wearing these shoes. In the middle of the bows are little black enamel studs, with silver edging, and 'TB' for Ted Baker in silver Italic writing on the top. These are very simple and sleek looking shoes, and yet they look fun, quirky and unusual, and expensive and classy at the same time. Having said that they were actually quite expensive at £55.00.

I was initially over the moon with these as she'd remembered that I loved them, and I would have bought them myself had I not been so indecisive about the colour. They actually go with a whole host of things; they look good with black opaque tights and a short dress or skirt, they look good with leggings and a tunic top, they look equally as good with skinny jeans. They are very versatile and you can dress them up or down to suit your outfit or your mood. They are easy to keep clean too as they just need a wipe over with a damp cloth.

Unfortunately though they are not actually very comfortable to wear for any length of time. The main problem is that because they are a PVC material they make my feet hot, sticky and sweaty when I wear them with bare feet. I don't normally get hot sweaty feet at all, it's obviously the PVC that's making my feet so sweaty. I find that if I've had these on all day with bare feet then my feet are literally stuck to the insides of them by the end of the day and I have to literally prise them off my feet. If I wear them with tights then my stockinged feet sometimes slip out of the pumps whilst I'm walking. They don't rub my feet as such, and they are comfortable to walk in, however the fact that either my feet are so hot and sticky and uncomfortable or slip out of the shoes when I'm walking which is really distracting and also dangerous as I've very nearly fell flat on my face a couple of times means that they probably won't actually get much use.

I do love these ballerina pumps and I think that they look fab on, I've not relegated them to the back of the wardrobe yet because I love them so much and I'm probably going to try and persevere with them. Maybe I'll find a way to keep them on when I wear tights, or find a way to stop my feet getting so hot, sticky and sweaty when I wear them with bare feet!

Size wise these are true to size, I have them in my regular size 5.

Looks wise I'd give these ballerina pumps 5 stars. I'd knock a star off as I think that they are overpriced, although I do actually think that all Ted Baker stuff is overpriced. I'd knock another star off for the fact that these make my feet hot, sticky and sweaty when I wear them with bare feet, and then if I wear them with tights my feet can slip out of them. So unfortunately only 3 stars for these in the end.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Lovely pair of shoes that really stand out... I just want them in every colour now!

I am a lover of Ted Baker, mainly due to the fact that I love bows and a lot of the brands products has them stuck on them, and they are also very girly! When I saw these pump style shoes I immediately wanted them, and then I finally got them as a present for Christmas.

Ted Baker has new styles of all their products come out every season and so they regularly change the colours and styles of their products to fit with the fashion trends and the time of year that it is. I had originally seen this style of shoes at the start of the year but they were only available in two colours: black with white bows, or white with black bows. I loved them but never got round to treating myself to a pair. They then brought them out in many more colours and eventually, the pair that is shown in the image above with glittery bows on them.

I am writing my review based on the exact shoes shown in the image above. However I think it will be the same for all these 'gel like' Ted Baker pumps, regardless of the colour or whether the bow is glittery or not, as the material of the shoes is always the same.

        ~ Description ~

These specific shoes are available in black with silver/grey bows, cream with gold bows and red with slightly darker red bows on them which I think looked very Christmassy and so wouldn't advise them for wear during the spring/summer unless they are worn for a party! I wanted these shoes in all of the colours but I eventually decided on the black ones as I thought they would go with more of my clothes that I own.

As I stated the pumps are made of a 'gel like' material, it is glossy PVC and they feature a large glitter bow to the toes of the shoes which really stand out, and also if you are a fan of Ted Baker you can probably tell just from looking at the bows alone that they are Ted Baker shoes! In the middle of the bow is the small rounded button that features the Ted Baker logo. The logo also appears on the sole and on the back of the shoes on the heel part, where it stands out on a metal plaque.

        ~ Wearing the shoes ~

I am usually a size 5, on the odd occasion I need a size 6 depending on the brand. These Ted Baker pumps however are true to their size and a size 5 fits me perfectly. Most retailers that sell Ted Baker have these shoes available from sizes 3 up to 8.

As I only got these at Christmas I haven't worn them a great deal yet, however I can comment on how comfortable the shoes are and how well they have lasted up until now.
When I first put these on my feet I did think they felt a little tight, but due to the material they stretch a little and seem to adjust to your feet!

I was worried that due to the material of the shoes they would slide on and off my feet easily when walking. I wore these for work on my bare feet and I had no problems all day, they did not hurt my feet or slide off until the very end of the day when I was walking down the stairs and one slipped off. I do think because of the material against your bare feet it could cause them to become slightly sweaty and so quite dangerous if on your feet all day! I am lucky and sit at a desk and so I can manage to wear these all day without being a risk, I am just extra careful when I do walk. They do not slide off my feet all of the time though, only twice so far when they have been quite warm.

I therefore wouldn't recommend wearing these on bare feet if you plan on walking around a lot all day. Instead wear these with tights, which I have found when I have done so that I have no problems with them sliding or falling off.

The shoes do not hurt my feet and I haven't really had to wear into them either as I stated before, they kind of adjust to your feet instead.

        ~ Conclusion ~

I love the appearance of these Ted Baker safire ballerina style pumps and would definitely consider purchasing some like this again. I actually want them in cream and gold now as they have now been reduced and instead of them being at their RRP of £55 they are now £33, so a great time to purchase them! I have had lots of compliments when I have worn them out as the glittery bows really do make them stand out and catch peoples eyes.

The only downside to these shoes is the glossy PVC material that they are made out of. I do think they would be a lot better to wear if they were made out of other material. However, the PVC does mean that they can be wiped clean very easily.

These are still available from House of Fraser, Ted Baker, Very.co.uk, Amazon and eBay. Prices vary but I have seem them on all listed retailers in the sale now for around £33.
