Advantages: comfortable. simple. goes with everything. available in a variety of colours
Disadvantages: possibly the price. nothing else
Firstly, I love what the brand stands for. It's getting more and more rare these days to find clothing/shoe brands putting ethic and morals before £££ and Tom's are a great brand that's generous.
Toms have been very popular for their great quality, simple and comfortable shoes and at the same time, acting on their great scheme they do. It's simple: "With every pair purchased, TOMS will give a new pair of shoes to a child in need. One for One."
Since the launch of the brand, with the help from all those who have bought their shoes they have managed to give away 1million pairs of shoes to those in need! :D how fantastic is that?!
I think it's great that they are doing something so generous and helping many others out their and it just shows the people behind the brand are not the type to turn a blind-eye to child labour or forgetting about those who could benefit greatly from selling them selling their shoes.
If you weren't interested in any of the message behind the brand and just want the details of the shoes themselves.. here we go
As I said, they are super comfortable and unlike some other trainers, they are super light and so it doesn't really feel like your wearing much on your feet (it's like running round barefoot :P). The only slight drawback possibly is that it might take a bit of getting used to at first. When I tried it on in store for the first time, I honestly was slightly annoyed. I've been planning to get them for a while, and then when I tried them on and started to walk, they slipped right off! They just would not stay on my feet, although I had my correct size. I thought at the time that I was going to need to get some heel grips or something because I insisted on getting a pair. Walking out the shop and after a short while, I saw a few others with them on and it baffled me as to how theirs stayed on perfectly.. 'ohh, they must all have heel grips on..' came to mind but I was quick to judge. Within about 3-4 wears of the trainers, it started to feel like second nature. They stayed on perfectly by themselves and were so comfortable.
Most likely, if your a student or you have quite long days I would totally recommend them. With the amount of walking I have to do in a day, I can get super tiring but at least my feet will be fine! :)
Summary: would recommend them, and since they look great with everything, you'll get tons on use out of them
