A nice pair of shoes to look at but not to wear

Having a younger sister that constantly stays at your house is sometimes a great thing! She is only 18 months younger than myself but we are two very different people but we do have a great relationship which I am very grateful for and it means that apart from being my sister she is a great friend and like me she is obsessed with shoes. We share our shoes and she often leaves most of hers lying around my house which as much as I hate the mess I like the fact I can use the shoes!

My sister mainly shops at Topshop for her shoes as she can use her student discount (great for me too!) but she does also like the same brands I do which is perfectly fine by me! A pair of shoes that we both looked at in Topshop a few months ago were a pair called Ronnie. I decided that I wanted a different pair and she bought these. For about four months now they have been resident at my house which in my eyes gives me licence to wear them and have done a few times!

Ronnie Twist Sandal comes in either black or a dark red patent. As the picture shows my sister opted for the black patent. They have a slightly gothic look to them but still with the added glamour you need for a night out. Ronnie are 100% leather with a patent covering and should not be washed, if they get dirty they should be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

My sister has only worn these shoes once before she moaned they hurt her feet and threw them in my shoe cupboard downstairs. I have worn them multiple times and have found them quite comfortable to wear to a point, as even though I have narrower feet than she does I think the overall design of the shoe isn't particularly user friendly after a few hours.

As you can see on the picture they have a twist design with the straps which go over the front of your foot and up round your ankle. These straps are not particularly skin tight on your feet but if your feet are quite wide then you may struggle with them as they will dig in. Despite the twist style straps being leather they don't give much so you have been warned! The top strap is done up by a slim silver buckle which is adjustable so you can tighten or loosen it. I found that after wearing these a few times the strap did give a bit and I ended up wearing the strap on a different hole as it needed to be tightened.

The shoes are in a peep toe style which gives plenty of room for your toes as it is quite wide which for me is great as I don't particularly like narrow peep toes as they can crush up your toes a bit which is incredibly uncomfortable. The heel on these shoes is incredibly slim and is around 4 inches which is quite high but I find them perfectly fine to walk on. I do doubt though how secure the heel is on the shoe as a few times I have worn them and I have felt like the heel is going to snap off at any minute which is not a good thing!

There is no platform to the shoe and they are quite flat in the footbed with no padding or extra support and I have found that after wearing these on an evening out my feet are screaming at me to take these shoes off as the heel is high with no padding for the feet despite being comfortable to start off with I find myself yearning for my comfortable, friendly slippers!

As I said above Ronnie Twist Sandals are available in two colours (dark red and black) and start in a size 3 and go up to a size 9. They currently cost £75.00 a pair which my sister isn't amused at considering she finds them too painful to wear. For me however it is a free pair of shoes which I can last in for a few hours!

Overall, despite being leather these shoes are not worth the £75.00 price tag as they don't have any staying power in terms of being comfortable despite how many times you wear them they don't give much around the foot and you do find the straps can rub a bit too easily. Even though they have a lovely design it isn't very practical.
