“ Brand: Topshop / Type: Pumps „
I love the ballet pumps that Topshop sell, and I have many pairs from there, from the plain to the patterned to the studded. I have a couple of pairs of the Vicious studded ballet pumps from Topshop which are on their last legs now as I've worn them to death. I was going to buy another pair of the Vicious pumps, however I spotted the newer version of the Vicious - these ones, the Vivid Studded ballet pumps and so I bought these ones instead.
Like all of the ballet pumps in Topshop, I found that these Vivid studded ballet pumps come up slightly on the small side. I'm normally a size 5 in most shoes, and occasionally I can even get away with a 4, I had to buy these studded ballet pumps in a size 6. I think that the problem is that they are quite narrow, which is why I needed to go up to a size 6 as I have little fat feet!
These are exactly the same design as the regular ballet pumps that I buy from Topshop, but with the addition of metal studs all over the pumps. These have lots of metal studs all tightly packed together all over the pumps, whereas the Vicious just had studs sparsely dotted all over the pumps. The Vivid studded ballet pumps come in four colours; matt khaki ballet pumps with gold coloured studs, patent black ballet pumps with silver coloured studs, patent aubergine ballet pumps with silver coloured studs, and patent dark green ballet pumps with gold coloured studs. I bought the matt khaki with gold studs.
These are £28.00 per pair, regardless of which colour you buy. They are quite expensive considering that they are not actually leather, they are a polyurethane material, however they are very soft and supple, and they do actually look like leather pumps. Well the matt khaki colour that I bought looks like leather, however I didn't think that any of the patent colours looked like leather, which is the main reason that I chose the matt khaki colour.
These are gorgeous little shoes and they look exactly like a ballerinas ballet pumps complete with the little tie bow detail on the front and the cotton trim around the pumps, but then they have the addition of the funky rock chick style studs. The studs lift the little pumps from being girly and cute, to giving them a much more modern and edgy look. These look good dressed up or down, and they can instantly glam an outfit up, or create a very funky casual look, depending what you choose to wear them with.
These are so comfortable, they are just like wearing a pair of slippers, the material is so super soft that it moulds to your feet, and there's no hard edges to rub or irritate your feet. I can wear these all day with no discomfort whatsoever, and it doesn't feel like I've had anything on my feet. My only gripe with these is that the soles are just a very thin plastic sole, I'm very heavy footed and so I find that I always wear the soles down very quickly on the ballet shoes from Topshop (which is what happened to my previous two pairs of Vicious studded ballet pumps) and so it looks like I'll probably do the same with these ones too. Another negative about the sole is that because it is so thin you can feel some stones and cobbles through the sole.
Overall though I'm really pleased with these, and I'm glad that I went for the matt khaki ballet pumps with the gold coloured studs as I feel that they do look like leather, and much more expensive than they acually were. I absolutely love the funky rock chick styling with the studs, and they are supremely comfortable (providing you aren't walking over uneven ground). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these, and I may even go and take another look at the other colours again, and maybe choose myself another pair.
