I was visiting my friend in Aberystwyth a few years ago and we came across this funky little clothing come goth gift shop and in there were the best shoes. They were flat with a chunky sole, Mary Jane style, with a cat face on the front. Unfortunately, no size for me so I went away empty handed. A few months later on one of my trawls around Camden I saw the very same shoes and had to have them. This is how I fell in love with TUK shoes.

You would have thought for such unusual and fantastically styled shoes they would hurt. Not so. I can honestly say they are the most comfortable pairs of shoes I've had. The thick sole keeps feet nice and warm in the winter too so I wear them all year round and they are a real talking point. Everyone comments on these shoes. They are very well made and robust, I wear them loads and they still look like new. I think they'll last me a long time yet. The attention to detail of the product is fantastic too. The sole of the shoes has a raised bone pattern, and the shoes came with a rubber keyring that matched this. For the quality of the shoes and the novelty factor of the design, the price is uncredible. I paid £35 for mine from Camden and this priced is matched on their website.

Since buying these shoes I had to look up the whole range on the web and it's fantastic. They have such amazing designs, I truely had to restrain myself from buying them all. They have a wide selection of styles for men, ladies and kids. I wish I had a little one to buy for as the kids shoes are too adorable! The site is split into styles, boots, flats, heels etc so it's easy to find what you want. Also they have a number of character ranges such as Emily the Strange which are just as crazy and fantastic in their designs. Prices for everything is reasonable, around £25-£35 for most shoes, more for boots and there's a clearance section with shoes for as little as £12.

In the ladies range most shoes are available from a size 3 up to a 9, which is great news for taller ladies with bigger feet as 9s are hard to come by usually in funky shoes. Men's sizes go up to a UK size 12 whilst little un's shoes go up to a little size 12. There's full conversion charts on the site too. Delivery is free for orders over £45.

Overall, I'm so excited about finding this company. Girls, for crazy shoes that don't hurt and won't break the bank try TUK. Available from the website and in funky little boutiques and markets around the country.
