Advantages: Lasts a while, Great to make a statement

Disadvantages: Can rub a tad, the price is a little steep

I'll admit it, I'm a shoe hoarder! I have collections from almost any alternative brand, but i'm a sucker for those that are made in England, such as Dr Martens (the vintage ones) and TUK shoes. TUK shoes are designed for those who like something different or have an appreciation for the alternative scene, most famous for their selection of creeper designs. TUK is much like the Underground brand, however I personally prefer TUK as the shoes tend to last longer and feel of a much better quality.

The shoes available from TUK range from Mary Jane designer to boots to creepers, which of course means that the prices vary a lot too. On average you're looking at paying between £40-£80 for a pair of shoes from this brand. This does seem a little steep for one pair of shoes, however if you want something a bit different you're going to have to pay more, and they normally last a while too so you do get your money worth.

For the purpose of this review I'll base it on my pair of platform creepers made from a suede material. The visual appeal to these shoes are great, very unique and fantastic to make a statement, they're also available in numerous amount of colours to suit everyone's personality and preferences. The soles of my creepers are hollow, but they're also really thick which means it takes years for them so ware away extensively. The suede fabric is also very hard wearing, I've had my shoes for a couple years now and there are barely any marks, just a few faded spots from the sun and where I'd washed them.

For those of you who don't like shoes that are nasty to break in, there's no need to worry, the insides of the shoe are made from a padded fabric so there is instant comfort from the first step. The only problem I've found with these shoes is that the weight of the soles mean they slide up and down the heel of my foot, this doesn't cause any major discomfort but it does ruin the inside cushioning and creates holes in the fabric! However this doesn't bother me personally as it isn't visible from the exterior and has no impact on the performance of the shoes.

Overall the company has never let me down, each pair of shoe's I have purchased from them are either still going or lasted me a couple years, reasonable value for money if you ask me. I also get loads of compliments and they can jazz up any outfit! Recommended to anyone who likes something a bit different.

Summary: Great shoes in many varieties
