TUK shoes last for Miles
Member Name: Lady_Alys
Advantages: Hard wearing, lasting, affordable
Disadvantages: Now everyone wears them!
The first time I saw those red kitty design TUK shoes it was love. I had to buy them regardless of if they where comfortable or fit me, those where just semantics. The heart wants what the heart wants afterall.
One of the best decisions of my life.
Ok so after seeing them I did do the sensible thing and tried them on, they fit like a glove. Ok so they look great and they fit but then the price...£35. Doesn't seem like a lot but this was 8 years ago and I was a poor student with no actual need for another pair of shoes.
I took the dive anyway and bought them....but then, what if they hurt my feet after a while? What if they cause blisters or take ages to break in?
I must stop here and give out a bit of information about myself. I have the most awkward feet there is. I am a size four and a half with wide, flat shaped feet so buying shoes is very difficult. I always have to try them on and most of the times my toes don't fit because of the width or they hurt my feet quite easily.
Not with my pair of gorgeous kitty TUKs though. I wore them about my house a little to see if they would be easy to break in and then I went for it, a whole day walking about it then with minimal feet ache at the end of it. By this point I was in heaven and waiting for them to just fall to bits because, come on, nothing could be this too good to be true...or could it?
8 years on and my kitty TUKs are still with my shoe collection, still get worn (a lot) and still look exactly the same as the day I bought them. Perfect. Because of the hard, flat shape of the bottom part of the shoe I do sometimes get feetache from wearing them for prolonged periods of time but I can dance all night in them with no more achey feeling than in other boots or shoes so it isn't really a dpwnside.
For someone who has always been 'alternative' or 'goth' (pick one) these are perfect, they are there alongside with my New Rocks as the only pairs of shoes to have lasted the test of time.
In recent years TUK have become really on trend with a whole range of Creepers alongside stiletto heeled shoes and sparkly kitty shoes as well as a few more unique style pairs. But, you really do get what you pay for.
TUK are worth splashing that little bit extra on and the shoes will pay you back in fashion points and love to your feet.
Summary: Great statement shoes worth paying for
