Ugg Cardy Boots

After buying a few cheaper pairs of 'UGG style' boots I decided to look around and actually by myself a pair of proper UGGs. I wanted to get a pair that would stand up to a bit of wear and tear, while being cosier and comfier to wear than the cheaper options available.

After much thought I didn't want to get a pair of UGGs that were going to be too similar to other boots I owned so I opted for the Cardy variation. Admittedly they are quite chunky and thick, while they do make my feet look a bit bigger they really are cosy and comfortable to wear. These boots unlike all the cheaper pairs that I have feel soft, sturdy and personally for my purposes I think that they look great.

The UGG cardy is available in a variety of colours from some more practical colours of grey, brown and black to purple, sand and my personal favourite pomegranate. When I picked my pair I knew that I would be wearing these primarily in the house and as extra thick winter slippers, so I went for the pinky pomegranate colour. However, if I had been buying these to wear with jeans I would have chosen something a tad more grown up in appearance.

When I first bought these I was a little worried about whether or not the Cardy aspect of the boot would stretch, you know that way that some knitted tops can quickly go out of shape with use. However, after a few months of wearing them they have stretched a little bit but my pair have mostly held their shape. But a word of warning, I would suspect that these cardy UGG boots would not be as durable or as long lasting as some of the other UGG boots if you were to wear them mostly outdoors. In other words I would think that although you can wear these outside I would be wary about wearing them out in bad weather, I think that the wool might be easily stained or damaged.

The majority of time I prefer to wear these with no socks, because I wear them mostly indoors I don't need any extra warmth other than what the boot itself provides. It is also one of my favourite sensations, the boots interior shhepskin is so soft and so cosy that it is a pleasure to wear next to your skin. Despite being warm my feet never feel overly sweaty or uncomfortable in the boots, the natural sheepskin is meant to keep your feet warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

The soles are also quite thick and they feel rather good quality. I have owned mine for months now and they show little signs of wear and tear I suspect that the boots will last for quite a while even with constant use. I have a stone tiled kitchen floor which I do like, but even with some slippers my feet still get horribly cold while standing around in there, but these boots are great the cold just doesn't come through the soles.

When I was looking at getting my pair I had read several reviews about how it can be quite tricky buying the correct size if you don't get the chance to try them on first. I am a size six, maybe a small size six but definitely a six and when these arrived they were a tad tight to begin with but even after only a couple of hours of wear they had moulded to my feet. I would suggest that the sizing for these cardy UGG boots is pretty accurate.

These boots have a typical retail price of around £150, which I personally think is far too expensive for what you actually get, so I recommend shopping around for a bargain. In the end I managed to pick up a pair from Amazon for around £80. These boots weren't exactly a bargain at £80, but because the quality of the product is good I don't really begrudge the hefty price tag.

To sum, I love wearing my pair and although I mostly wear them around the house and occasionally for a short trip out or around the garden they still look great. I didn't buy them to be a fashion accessory but instead as comfy and cosy pair of house boots for which they work brilliantly.

The boots get a promising four out of five stars from me.
