Advantages: Warm, Comfy, Fashionable
Disadvantages: Costly
To be honest I find it very hard to justify any boots being worth over £150 but there are those who do. UGG are very fashionable name and therefore the brand itself will allow the prices to push up. The brand is a far cry than when it was first created in 1978. This was six years before it was bought by Deckers Outdoor Corporation - the firm that still owns it today.
Brands often dictate the price of an item. In a way it is like buying a pair of trainers with no name on it along with a pair of trainers with Umbro as the makers. Umbro will also sell as a premium. UGG are no different.
Before Christmas I was asked by my daughter for a pair of UGG boots - Classics Tall, so I have been able to do a lot of research.
The first warning I must give is that many of 'so called' UGG boots are fake. These are often refered to as 'Fuggs'. They often have the UGG label on the back of the heel but it is not real. There are a lot of people out there who are happy to buy 'Fuggs'. They look the same. They are fashionable and they are also a lot cheaper. I have seen them for sale for around £70.
This is all well and good if you know beforehand.
Before Christmas I considered hard whether to buy fake UGG's. They are usually very easy to find on the internet. However at the end of the day I thought I'd pay the full price and buy a real pair, from a reputable store. I would then be in a position to exchange them if they went faulty. And I assure you at the prices charged I wouldn't think twice about returning them.
My daughter says they are extremely comfortable and well worth the money. Time will tell!!
Summary: In fashion and very warm and comfortable
