My sister is always after getting my son trendy items of clothing and footwear as presents and this Christmas she decided that along side his toys and games that she had bought him that she would buy him some vans plimsolls too because she had some and said that they would look great on him. This is my review of the shoes.
Vans are actually a skate shoe but one which has been adapted slightly for the current market and they seem to be very popular amongst both teens and adults alike. Of course when there is a trend it always seems to be that children's sizes are introduced and so you can get Vans in toddler sizes as well as junior sizes too. My son has them in a size 12 but they range from a 10 to a 5 in the junior sizes.
My son has the Vans in a pale blue colour although they come in many colours and I personally love the red ones. The shoes feature a canvas type upper with a textile lining and a thick chunky sole which is made from other materials. The shoe has some white stitching on it along with white laces and a white Vans tag so that you are in no doubt as to which kind of shoes you are wearing. The shoe also has the reds vans name on the back of the shoe on the sole so it is visible from the back as you walk.
The shoes are actually quite big fitting but the 12 now fits my son quite well where as when he first got them they were a little big. I am glad he has come in to them now though as the dryer weather is perfect for wearing a canvas shoe and it is not the best idea to wear them when it is raining obviously. The white sole does pick up dirt quite easily but it is also quite easy to wash it off with a sponge or a baby wipe in most cases.
I did worry whether the chunky sole may have meant that my son would trip up as he ran around in the shoes as it is quite heavy I feel but he has no issues running around in them and he can also ride his bike in them too. He says that the shoes are comfortable to wear and he does like to wear them.
In terms of fashion I do have to say that I do think these shoes look really trendy on my son, especially if worn with some chinos or skinny jeans much like the boys in one direction seem to be wearing! Whilst I realise fashion is not the most important thing when it comes to footwear for your child in this case they are both comfortable and trendy and so tick all of the boxes for me.
You can pick these shoes up from around £20-£35 for the junior sizes and whilst they are not cheap shoes they do feel very well made and as I mentioned they seem to have plenty of room in them so with care will last well. My son has worn his plenty of times since Christmas and they still look immaculate and he still has plenty of room in them and so I can certainly recommend them.
Thank you for reading my review!
