      Vans SK8 HI LX Croc

      Vans SK8 HI LX Croc

These shoes reminded me first very must of the Converse shoes since they are similar in looks but these ones are just a bit different with the whole croc effect. I liked them from the first moment I saw them and of course had to get them. I know the brand Vans and I really like there shoes. The Vans SK8 HI LX Croc came around the price of 45 pounds which I think was a reasonable price.

Vans gets the inspiration from skating and actually started with designing shoes for skaters. People liked the style of the shoes so much they started to wear them during the day and became more known for the general public. The shoes they design are still inspired by the skater world and you can tell by the comfort and flexibility of the shoe. They especially are designed to give you full ankle support and to give your great grip.

The Vans SK8 HI LX Croc come in black with a croc like pattern which I really like. The sole is completely white which reminded me very much of Converse. I think they have a very casual but also smart appearance which I really love. The shoe is made of suede kind of material and the sole is made of rubber which feels really firm and does give me a good grip. When I tired them on they felt really comfortable and flexible. They give me support and felt tight but it was more that the shoe moves with the foot instead of working against it.

I have been wearing these for quite some while now and they still look good. The suede material is still in good condition and only the white sole is a bit dirty but I always have that with white. I think for the price they are great shoes and of great quality. I love the way they look and feel so great shoes.

A nice shoe if bought with a discount

Its seems that there is a bit of a fight going on at our home between Converse All Stars and Vans at times. We all have a number of pairs of these shoes and I have to say I do tend to favour my Converse a little bit more. But being a sucker for a cute pair of casuals, I ended up with a pair of Vans moc croc shoes.

I have to say that I was very taken by them as soon as I saw them. The moc croc effect is really attractive to the eye and as its in a lovely black patent effect, I thought it looked rather smart but also rather cool at the same time. As my taste in shoes is rather varied I like to be able to ring the changes whenever I fancy a new look, so as these Moc Croc Vans were reduced I had no qualms about them coming home with me.

When I came to review these shoes here they were not listed, but after a product suggestion I am happy to say they have been added and so I can share my thoughts about them. Things I like about my Vans Moc Croc Shoes are in the main the lovely shiny look of the moc croc material. Its not very subtle I know but it does really make my shoes stand out against the matt suede/ peach skin effect material used on the rest of the shoe.

The stye of my Vans Moc Croc Shoes is comfortable now they have been worn in, but I did have slight issues with these shoes when new. The problem I had with these is that when I bought them I didn't wear them immediately as I had bought them to put away for later use. This meant that I didn't notice that my shoes had a slight problem with one of the tongues. I bought them in the sale so I couldn't return them for a swap, as they didn't have anymore in the same style, so I decided to see if I could fix them myself.

      *********************************************************
It must have been at least a month or so after purchase when I decided to give my Vans a try out. I soon noticed the shoes had a slight problem with one of the tongues not being stitched into place at the bottom, where it touches on the shoes upper. This meant that when I tried to place my foot into the shoe it was very uncomfortable, as the bottom bit of the tongue kept twisting and catching against the front of my foot.

As the tongues on my shoes are made from the moc croc material there was a roughness to the edge that kept catching and it really hurt. I tried using glue to stick the tongue edge back into place but that didn't hold, so I had to resort to stitching it into place. I have to say it was very awkward to do and I didn't do a very neat job of it, although you cannot see my make shift stitching when I am wearing the shoes thank goodness. So far this has held the badly stitched tongue in place and allowed me to wear my shoes with a good degree of comfort.

Other than that my Vans are fine. The outer materials have slight wear lines or creases to the croc effect bits in some places, but I feel thats to be expected with this type of shoe. The suede/ peach skin bits have not faded and still look in nice condition and the soles of my Vans are still in great shape. The material used for the soles of these shoes gives good grip and the waffle texture hasn't really worn down much at all, even though I have had these for a year or so.

The white rubber surrounding my Vans does get a bit grubby at the bottom edges, so from time to time I give them a quick wipe with a baby wipe and I find that makes them look fairly well turned out again. I haven't tried washing these, which is what I have done with some of the other Vans shoes we have. As these are in a darker shade and not made from canvass, I don't feel they would stand up to that kind of treatment too well, so I just try to keep them as clean as I can with a bit of a wipe over.

I bought these Vans from an official Vans shop and I think the price prior to the sale was £55. I paid £25 for these, so I feel I had a fair deal with them, in spite of the issue with the tongue needing to be stitched. I have to say that was the first incident like that I have had with a pair of Vans, so I am not going to deduct too much from these when it comes to rating them.

Over all I feel a 4 star rating would have been fair had they been 100% perfect as they do look very nice, but as I had to sort out the stitching to be able to wear them I feel they only deserve 3 stars. Whist I bought these at least a year ago, you can still buy them online. Prices that I have seen have been in line with the full price that they were sold at prior to them going into the sale. At £55 I feel the price is a bit high and would only recommend them if they were reduced.
