“ Brand: Windsors / Type: Boots / Gender: for children „
I decided both of my daughters could do with some new boots for the winter, so I took them to the local Windsors World of Shoes which is only a short distance from our home. I find they have an extensive range of well priced footwear, particularly for children. I also planned on measuring both of my children's feet to ensure I was buying them the correct size and I find Windsors are ideal for that.
My four year old daughter quickly spotted these Peppa Pig Sleet boots, I tried to convince her to buy some black boots which she could also wear to school but in the end she twisted my arm and I bought them for her. I forget how much they cost but a quick look on the Windsors World of Shoes website shows me they are currently on sale for £16 ( the full price being £22).
We measuring my daughters feet and found she was a UK 8, Windsors stocked these boots in sizes 5 - 10, we had no problem finding the correct size on the shelf. The boots fit my daughter well, being roomy enough to allow her to wear thick socks or tights on cold days.
The boots themselves are fuscia / pink in colour and made out of PU synthetic leather. There is a picture of Peppa Pig on the side of each boot, she is wearing her usual red dress and is surrounded by a green vine which red and yellow flowers on. "Peppa Pig" is written in pink on both heels. After just a few weeks of wearing the boots I began noticing small cracks appearing in the picture, unfortunately they have gotten substantially worse as time has gone on. There is also a large crease line right through Peppa's face, I don't think it will be long before the cute character is completely unrecognisable. I find that the boots are already looking a little scruffy which I find quite disappointing, no matter how often I wipe them over they just look dingy.
Inside, the boots are slightly fleecy but not padded. Still, they seem to work well enough at keeping her feet warm but she does tend to wear thick tights with them. The soles are nice and thick, so far we have found them to be rather durable and they show no signs os splitting, although I do think it is worth noting that a small amounts of clear glue is visible around the joins. My daughter has worn the boots during some awful downpours, yet her feet have remained dry inside. She finds them very comfortable to wear and has never complained that they hurt.
There is a long zip on the inside of each boot, the surrounding material is already starting to fray in places and this easily catches and gets stuck in the zip. Therefore the boots can be a real pain to get on and off, my daughter cannot do this by herself which she finds rather frustrating.
Overall we have been quite disappointed by these boots and I really cant see them lasting through the winter. I feel I can only give these shoes 2 Dooyoo stars out of 5 and wouldnt really recommend them.
