Forbidden PlanetNewest Review: ... door, you will go into the downstairs floor which contains second hand and new computer games, comics and some figures. Plus other random stuff. The games selection used to be huge but seems to have dwindled, I suppose with competition with other stores and online retailers possibly. There is always music in the store, last time they were playing Nickelback. The carpet is dirty with chewing ... more |

Forbidden Planet was one the greatest shops in Stoke on Trent in the years that it was known as Another World and located in the arcade that is now TK Maxx, it was a stunner. It is a retailer of graphic novels, comics, computer games, cult and science fiction, band merchandise, DVD's, toys and magazines. If I were to write a review in its general section I would have given it more stars as some of the other stores are fantastic and its website is very good too. It has been in its new location for what must be a number of years now. Once you manage to fight your way in into the store with its exceptionally heavy metal door, you ... Read the complete review

A shop for nerds and geeks everywhere, Forbidden Planet has everything you'll ever need. Downstairs you will find is mostly the Graphic Novel section, where you should be able to find any genre you desire from Manga, DC, Marvel etc, and if you can't find what you want then they will order it in for you. Upstairs is more of an assortment of memorabilia from film & TV, offering toys, posters, games etc. It also caters widely for your Role Playing gamers, selling everything you need for a solid game of Dungeons and Dragons or Warhammer (not that i play them or anything. I'm 25). The DVDs on sale are of a wide variety, but you can find them a hell of a lot ... Read the complete review

Forbidden Planet is a shop that sells plenty of geeky things such as collectible figures, dice, anime, specialist board games and comics. They also sell more mainstream things such as computer games for consoles and posters of popular films and tv shows like Doctor Who and Buffy. I'd never heard of Forbidden Planet until I moved to Nottingham, and they are few and far between across the country, being limited only to bigger cities. That, in conjunction with what they sell, means that it's not surprising many people haven't heard of it. One of the biggest advantages of Forbidden Planet is that it's great for gift buying, and the prices are fairly ... Read the complete review

Forbidden Planet is based in the centre of Central London on Shaftesbury Avenue, it is just far enough away from the general theatre pizzazz, and is about 5 minutes walk from Holborn or Covent Garden Tube Stations, its also within 6 minutes walk of Tottenham Court Road, so is easily accessible from a number of different tube lines. Forbidden Planet is a store for people who enjoy Science Fiction and Cult Entertainment, it is set over two floors and you will recognise it by the constant flow of geek boys and girls entering searching for the latest Japanese import of a Boba Fett figurine, or the latest Alan Moore Graphic Novel. The store has ... Read the complete review

Forbidden Planet is a great shop thats full of comics, manga, posters, figures from different games and shows and also has some great collectables. It truely is any geek or comic nerd heavon, though I just love it! I have visited the Forbidden Planet in Belfast, just off Victoria Square, the premises are quite tidy and there is a basic layout structure that is kept, basically so you can find what you want. The figures, posters and other little gimicy collectables are all down stairs in this store, then when you advance up stairs there is a large range of comic books mostly paper back, varying in price depending on rareness, you can find Batman, Avengers, ...
