Advantages: free parking, lots to do and generally quieter than main shopping malls

Disadvantages: Hard to reach without a car

Even though i live in Birmingham, and work in Birmingham city centre, people will assume i shop at the Bullring or the Mailbox, however this is not always the case. I find the Fort to be more relaxed, less busy and with free car parking.

The Fort has approximatley 33 stores including BHS, Boots, River Island, Topshop/Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Burtons, WHSmiths, HMV, JD, Mothercare, Birthdays, New Look, Debenhams and Marks and Spencers. Therefore offering a variety of shops to suit all needs.

As well as this it has a newly opened food court which contains Nandos, Starbucks and Burger King. There is also a Scallywags which is an indoor play area for Children and Toddlers.

The main highlights have to be shopping without crowds, more times than not meaning you can normally find what your looking for and in your right size, and free parking. With the mix of shops and places to eat and drink it can be a full days shopping, a meeting place for lunch or a coffee, or a quick nip to the shops for something your desperate for.

there is one small problem that it is hard to reach, there is one bus, the 66 which goes from Birmingham City Centre and stops directly outside.

The location of the Fort, by car, is off the M6 between Junctions 5 and 6 and on the Heartlands Spine Road
