      Very helpful

A great must go to area of london but with a fat wallet!

My husband worked on the kings road for many a year and I increasingly became a fan of the sophisticated line of shops, trendy yet elite cafes, hidden restaurants and clarity of well dressed women walking down the road with their babies in bugaboos.

Ok so its an incredibly snobby area, full of wealth and that means very few people who walk down the kings road and live in the area are short of a penny, but its intriguing, and a shoppers delight as well as perfect for the artist or designer with beautiful shops, the saatchi gallery and the designers guild.

On visiting my husband I could never fail to go to the local patisserie and order the best pastries in town, with beautiful and exquisite custard and cream and a coffee to take away. The shops are a wash with some high street shops such as john lewis, habitat, starbucks, accessorise but the shops in between are a shoppers dream, albiet incredibly expensive!
Do not go to the kings road shopping if you are on a budget because you simply wont be able to buy anything!

Parents to be and newbie parents would enjoy some of the beautiful baby shops about with clothing, toys and accessories, I have bought some beautiful attire for my daughter in chelsea and its always good for a present to opt for shopping here. There is also a fantastic but again pricey maternity clothing shop which caters for the modern mum and up to date detailed clothing and nothing frumpy!

One shop I love is the old dutch pancake house, a cafe/restaurant which serves pancakes and the biggest ones I have ever seen in my life. They are huge and hardly fit the table, but such fun and a real worthwhile visit for lunch or dinner.

One tip when going to the kings road on a budget, look down the side streets for charity shops, beleive me you can get excellent designer status clothing and accessories as well as home ware for pennies!

Its the trendy and chic area to shop and sloane square adjoins it with a tube station and duke of york square which sits next to the saatchi gallery, a lovely shopping area with exquisite food shops, an outdoor cafe and patisserie valerie which is a simply must go to cake shop!
