Marks and Spencers is a byword for good quality and tradition in British Shopping.

With over 600 stores in the United Kingdom and 285 stores abroad, Marks and Spencers is a brand well known throughout the world, being the 48th largest store on the planet in 2008.

Created by Michael Marks and Thomas Spencer, the stores are over 100 years old and recently celebrated their anniversary.

I generally shop in the stores in London, and my favourite is the one on Bond Street. Set over 4 floors it is one of the largest shops in London and gives a wonderful flavour of the company.

In the basement is a Marks and Spencers Foodhall serving a wide range of food and drink, the wine selection is growing and is fairly decent value. The food is excellent quality and is becoming decent value, I thoroughly enjoy the meal deals, the cakes and lots of wonderful meat based products, the Marks and Spencers Sauces and Garnishes are also of fantastic quality.

On the Ground Floor and First Floor are women's clothes, which are fairly conservative but hard wearing and good quality, the underwear department especially is known to be very reliable and great quality.

On the Second Floor is the Men's floor, this is a mix of underwear, shoes, jumpers, old men's trousers and great formal wear, generally the clothes are a bit old fashioned but the suits are exceptional, great quality and pretty good value, I like the fact you can get a fitted suit for under £200 and the staff are amazing in helping advise you of the best style to wear.

On the Third floor is furniture and other things, it is a good store, which is slightly old fashioned but totally reliable and actually not bad value for money.
