Advantages: Indoors, excellent baby/child facilities, free parking.

Disadvantages: Can get overcrowded, hot in the summer months.

Merryhill shopping centre is situated near Dudley, West Midlands. It is a large indoor shopping centre, with plenty of free parking (indoors and out).
Facilities are excellent, there are a wide variety of shops (clothing, department, shoes, electricals, toys, music, travel ), as well as other services such as clothing alteration, post office and places to eat/drink.
The main attraction for us is the excellent facilities for those with babies/children. There are specific baby changing areas, complete with breast feeding booth, microwave, bottle warmer, changing mats, parent and toddler toilets and so on. There is also an information desk whereby you can hire a kiddy car for the day (bright red car that the kids can drive while you push them - extra long parent handles, so no bending required)! The only minus point with this is that the majority of cars are single occupiers, though they do have a few double cars. All you need to do to get one is hand over some ID as a deposit. No money required! They will also look after your pushchair/pram for you.
In addition to this there are a few play areas, one indoors is for younger children, whist the one outdoors is for older ones.
You can easily spend a whole day here, though just remember it can get busy at certain times. It can also get quite hot in there in the summer, and I don't think there are any facilities/lockers for leaving coats etc, so don't take too much with you if you are going on public transport.

Summary: Can easily spend the day there.
