Advantages: Great Indoor Shopping Centre

Disadvantages: So many shops, so little time!!

Merry Hill Shopping Centre first opened its doors in 1985 and is a large retail indoor shopping centre based in the West Midlands and is home to some of the biggest named stores all under one roof.

HOURS/DIRECTIONS:
The centre is open 7 days a week and opening times are 09:00am to 09:00pm Monday to Friday, 09:00am to 07:00pm Saturday and 11:00am to 5:00pm on a Sunday. These hours do change at Christmas due to the huge rise in custom over this time so you can phne on 01384 487900 to find out the extended hours over this period. For those with a sav nav system the postcode for Merry Hill is DY5 1QX.
It is located close to Brierley Hill town centre in the West Midlands. It is just 5 miles off the M5 motorway and is 12 miles west of Birmingham.

STORES:
Stores included within this complex are Dorothy Perkins, Next, Primark, BHS, Marks and Spencers, Asda, Body Shop, Claires Accessories, Accessorize H&M, Bay Trading, Oasis, Boots, W H Smiths, Barratts, Jane Norman, Debenhams, Top Shop, Sports Soccer, JJB, Birthdays, Clintons Cards and New Look to name but a few. (To name them all would take forever).
The centre is also full of places to eat including Mcdonalds, Cookie Jar, Debenhams, Sweet Shops, Coffee Bars and just up the road out of the actual indoor centre itself you have KFC and you are right next to the Waterfront (a selection of bars to eat and drink in).

ABOUT THE CENTRE:
The indoor centre is located on two floors with lifts and escalators and regular intervals around the centre to travel from floor to floor. There is a huge newly built multi storey car park as well as a couple more car parks around the back by the Debenhams area. If these are full (which generally they are not but you will struggle for parking around Christmas time) there is also the cinema car park across the way to park in which takes you straight into Primark!!

The centre is great for those disabled or less abled people as there are lifts big enough to take wheelchairs or pushchairs and all shops are without steps.

A gift card is available for the whole of the Merry Hill centre and would make a great present for someone. There is a creche for younger children down by Debenhams and toilets on both floors. I always find the centre and its facilities clean and tidy and the parking isnt bad either. When on a shopping spree this is always the place i visit as with the British Weather being as bad as it can be at least you can shop to your hearts content indoors without the fear of having to run from shop to shop in the rain as with other town centres.

If after you finish your days shopping you are not completely knackered then why not take a trip to the cinema across the way. It is a major cinema with 10 screens and all major films showing. As well as the indoor shops there are also around 20 other big stores located in the area which you access from the outside including more places to eat, Next Home, Halfords, Asda Petrol Station and Carpetright.

Merry Hill really does offer something for everyone and for those shopoholics of you its brilliant. All major and minor stores in one place. Taking me there is like putting a child in a sweet shop - i just dont know where to start!!! You do cover quite a few sq ft in a day to visit all shops so be warned - wear those comfy shoes or youll be crippled as well as skint after a day visited here.

Summary: Great days shopping!

I went here while staying in Birmingham last year, it's too sprawling for me and I wanted to go home after 10 minutes!
