Stratford, like you'll read in any other opinion, is a tourist town. There are probably more tourists here then citizens which leads the town to get over crowded quite often! I wouldnt sujjest coming here to shop (especilly if you dont live here)! This is for all of you who plan to visit the famous town of Stratford in the near future. There is nothing a local hates more than a tourist. No, sorry that’s wrong. There is nothing a local hates more than a group of tourists. Please when you are taking your pictures of the back of coaches, parked cars, school kids at the bus stop or whatever else do it quickly because there are others who have to get around. And, although we do try and wait for you we cannot wait forever. If you walk down a main road in Stratford without stopping you will be in at least 5 photos, and the number of people with a picture of the side of my head is honestly ridiculous. This is a plea ... Stratford's shops mainly deal with tourists. It has the usual set of shops that practically every town has, WH Smiths, V.Shop (our price), Woolworths, M&S etc, but still has hundreds of little souvenir shops. Stratford is slowly developing into more of a working town, catering for the locals, as well as the tourists, with new shops being opened (for example HMV recently opened a new branch). There are plans to turn a 70's open shopping center into a two story indoor center, that will allow more shops into the town, and also tidy up one of the less attractive areas of the town.
