Advantages: As above + you can shop without your coat or umbrella

Disadvantages: As above. A monument to consumerism

Good things about the Trafford Centre:
- Selfridges
- (if you go by car) : plenty of free parking; it's easy to find, you can't miss it from the M60.
- Designer shops aplenty, e.g. Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, etc.
- lots of gadget / present shops, e.g. S.F. Codys' Emporium, Muji
- some good eateries, e.g. Yang Sing, Tiggis
- it's very good for people with disabilities

Not so good things about the Trafford Centre:
- No Marks & Spencer
- (if you have no car) : not very convenient on public transport
- the Festival Village tries to be a market area, but it's just more of the same kind of shops.
- no proper food shops (Selfridges doesn't count as it's too expensive)+
- some not so good eateries - but some people like KFC, McDonalds, don't they?
- it's hell on Saturdays, during the Summer holidays, and just before Christmas

Unlike Sheffield's Meadowhall, where there are some grocery stores and a Sainsburys, there are no proper food shops. This can be important if you want "one stop" shopping. There is an Asda across the dual carriageway, though.

All in all, the good things don't outweigh the not so good, for me, and I tend to avoid going there - let's not let consumerism take over our lives completely!
