“ 35 King Street, Manchester. „
Now we have the wedding venue booked, its time to do the dress shopping!
Having looked at plenty of designs on the internet I came across the Virgin Brides shop located in Manchester.
As with most bridal shops you will need to make an appointment with a consultant who will allow you to try on the dresses and find the one that is perfect for you.

If you are not familiar with Manchester then I recommend that you do have a look at some maps to get acquainted with the area.
If arriving by Train Victoria and Picadilly are in equal distance, we arrived in at Picadilly Station and caught the Number 1 bus located at the entrance, this was a free bus that dropped you right at King Street.
If you do decide to drive and park then there is a car park located at the bottom of King Street just off Deansgate Road and here this offers a pay and display service.

*~*Arriving at the Store*~*
Once we located the store the Virgin Brides store is located on the first floor.
As you arrive there is a small reception area complete with ideas for the bride to be ranging from Hen Night items to traditional items required for the big day.
A selection of Virgin Vie make-up is also on display.
As I arrived I was asked for my name and details of my upcoming wedding so that they could keep them on file.
I was greeted by Jody who took me through the process and asked me to complete these details so that they could advise me as best they could.
I was then directed into the Bridal Area which contained all the fantastic designer dresses including Maggie Sottero, Alan Hannah, Kate Sherford, Hollywood Dreams and Augusta Jones...very expensive.
Jody directed me to select 6 of the dresses that I would like to try on.
I selected at least 2 from my favourite designer which was Kate Sherford and the dress I had seen that I liked the best which was "Yasmin"
Once I had selected the dresses I was directed to the changing room where I could try the dresses on.
This was the most embarrasing bit as I had never been to try on any dresses I didn't know what to expect however, there I was stripped down to a bra and thong very embarrasing and surrounded by mirrors, I felt as if I was on "What not to Wear".
The assistant entered the changing rooms to help me into the dresses and boy I could not even imagine trying to do this unaided.
All dresses area a size 14 to allow most people to fit into them. I found this difficult to judge how much I liked one as they didn't fit quite right so you have to imagine it fitting like a glove which is hard to do!
Each dress I tried on I liked and thought it would be difficult for me to choose.
I tried on different types of dresses to ensure that the style I had opted for was the best.
I looked at a 2 piece by Alan Hannah which I fell in love with but the price I hated £2065.00 it was all silk which was fantastic but for one day could I justify the price??
I had approximately an hour to try on all the dresses and had a veil to see the effect as well as a tiara and shoes.
Out of the 6 dresses that I tried I have narrowed it down to 4 possibilities.
This store is great for seeing all the designers in one place and the staff are friendly and helpful advising you on how to get into the dress and which ones suit your figure.
I would recommend this store to anyone looking to buy a designer dress, and recommend that if you know which dress you would like, give them a call as they have designer discount days with 10% off making a little bit more reasonable!
