Posh and Good Looking (Westfield Shopping Centre (London))

Advantages: Variety of expensive stores and normal classics Disadvantages: More a destination shop than an everyday Westfield is a bit of a strange one - a luxury shopping center that wouldnt allow Primark in is based slap bang in the middle of Shephards Bush and all its loveliness! The site was part of a regeneration and the locals are very devidied - some love for the jobs, some hate because it closed lots of local shops - bearing in mind it was an empty waste site fot five years at least there is something there now! It is very modern, the largest in-city shopping center, and slightly smaller in comparison to Bluewater. There are some amazing little expensive boutiques alongside a lot of high-street "concept" stores, ie M&S who have models who are handstanding in their clothes! You can guess from all this that is it expensive and tends to be a destination shop and a tourist attraction, however it is nice to shop somehwere that is less busy than Oxford Street and which has lots of bars and restaurants to eat in afterwards - no Wetherspoons and the like in here! Transport links are great - based right on the Central Line and H&City it is easy to go to and there is a bus stop. A negative is that whilst it is outside the congestion zone parking is very expensive and minimal - obvioulsy an attempt to reduce drivers! Definatley worth a visit. Summary: Quieter than Oxford Circus - go there! |
