“ Manufacturer: Acco Brands / Cut Style: Strip-Cut / Shred Size: 0.16 in. / Max Sheet Capacity:18 Sheets / Throat Size: 9.06 in. „
The Acco is by far the most technical piece of wizadry you will surely see in the shredder market. It seems that as time progresses, so does the technology available in what used to be the more primitive forms of products. Typically, when you think of a shredder, you think of a simple device with one switch to stop and start and perhaps an easy fold out system to bin you shredded documents. The Rexel however has pushed the boundaries of the field and created an aspiring product.
The Acco has the basic function of shredding paper whilst delivering other useful tools such as Paperclip destroyer (so the device will just keep on working through the metal), a CD/DVD destroyer to enable complete annihilation of unwanted discs and the ability to chew up your old credit cards to poperri!!
If you're safety conscious and don't want any thief committing identity fraud then this is certainly the product for you. It comes with complete security in the fact that anything you feed through, will not be recognisable after.
Now to the specifics... The Rexel is made to shred 18 sheets of paper, but I have found that it can comfortably shred around 23 sheets if you're in a hurry. Whilst other similiar products produce a sound that is comparable to an overhead jumbo-jet, you'll find that this device is quiet and almost skillfull in its ability to hum like a bird when shredding.
The product is slim and light for easy storage and has a simple open fucntion to allow you to empty the bin within. The capacity of this bin is 30 litres, but as with all shredders, i recommend opening the tray and squeezing the content down after every 50th sheet shredded. This will ensure no 'back-log' and a smoother experience when shredding.
Other than that, I can thoroughly recommend this shredder, although some may be slightly put off by the price, what price can you really put on your security and peace of mind?
