      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A great shredder: makes fast work of anything!

      This shredder is one of the best you can buy because you can shred nearly anything! This is my new office toy after our last one gave up the ghost. We are no longer going to spend money on products that only a last a couple of years. This one comes with a 20 year guarantee so although the initial outlay is a lot (I nearly choked on my coffee when I saw the price) it should pay for itself over the length of time we have it. At my place of work we have so much confidential waste that we need to dispose of and this includes information stored on discs.

      ==Price and availability==

      As a company we tend to buy our supplies from one company and receive a discount for larger orders, although we do price match to make sure it is the best available price. Although this shredder is designed for office use, there is no reason why you could not house it in your garage if you have a lot of items to get rid of. You can buy it from Amazon.co.uk for £2200. This is alot of money, but the machine is quite amazing!

      ==Description==

      The machine is large and has a capacity of 125 L. Therefore you need to use the large sacks inside it to collect the waste. The machine stands about waist height and is about 50cm deep. To ease with mobility it comes on 4 little wheels. The shredder is always on once plugged in, but it does not keep churning and making noise like my last machine. It sits on standby until someone feeds something in, then it kicks into life. The machine can take up to 38 sheets of A4 at once, these can even include paperclips and staples. I love this feature as it means that you do have to sort the metal bits out and unclip staples; just throw it all in the machine!

      There is a smaller slot behind the paper slot and this takes CD discs and bank cards. I always use this machine to shred old discs with information on and my old bank cards. It is peace of mind rather than chopping them up with scissors and putting in the bin. I feel much safer doing it this way.

      ==My experiences==

      The shredder is fantastic and it is so quick to chew through the stacks of paper I feed it. There are two paper sizes that it will shred into; 5.8mm for everyday use and then for more confidential papers you can set it to 3.6mm. Due to the large capacity, it takes a while to fill and it much less messier than other machines. The waste falls into the bag and can be easily disposed of. There is an indication light on top that lets you know when the bag is full of if there is a jam. Jams are very rare as the machine powers through most things you feed into it! A good safety feature is that the machine does not work when the door is open; usually the main reason why the door is open is because someone has their hands inside either squashing the papers down in the bag to make more room or some other function and it would not be good to have the blades working when people's hands are rummaging around!

      The downside to the machine I am raving about, is that is makes quite a lot of noise when shredding. The machine is located in my office that houses 6 people and if you are sat right behind the machine when someone is shredding something, you will struggle to hold a telephone conversation. It makes a rather loud churning noise! Despite this, I would like to add that although it is noisy, it is really quick and the chomping noise of the shredder only goes on for a few seconds before it is finished.

      ==Overall==

      This is a heavy duty shredder and makes my life much easier at work. I can get rid of things so quickly rather than standing at the old shredder for an hour slowly feeding a couple of sheets at a time. I think that it is definitely worth the money. I take some of the shredded paper home for my niece's hamster to snuggle up in so from my point of view, this shredder is a win win situation!

      In my office we much have gone through at least 2 different shredders in the past 2 years, each one more useless than the last. This one will see us though 2 decades and not only will it last a long time, but it is much easier to use. It takes up a lot of room and is bulky and noisy, but it is probably one of the best shredders out there and I would wholly recommend it.
