My boyfriend is always nagging me to shred any letters or documents that I no longer want to store in my house, rather than just throwing them in the bin. He worries about identity theft. I have never been too worried, but a few months ago someone hacked into my credit card details and spent my money on my card. I was outraged, but my boyfriend told me it was probably down to them getting information out of my rubbish. The next day I went out and brought one of these paper shredder's from Tesco's. It was only £15, which is quite affordable, plus think of all the hassle it could potentially save me, as reclaiming money from banks is hard work.

The shredder came in two parts. the waste bin and the control head unit. I simply attached the head unit to the bin and I was ready to shred. Instructions were provided, but its so simple you probably won't need them. If I can work it out, you definitely can too!

The shredder boasts that it can shred up to five sheets of paper at a time. This wasn't an issue for, I would only need it for single sheets. However, I thought it viable to test to test its capacity. Five sheets of paper is pushing it. Several times I have tried five sheets and the mechanism has jammed. It can handle four pieces confortably. Six and over is dangerous ground, I wouldn't advise it.

To throw your wast away you have to remove the head unit. Make sure you have the power turned off, just to be safe.

I have found that the paper sometimes gets shredded so fine that it falls through the holes in the waste unit. Was this not tested first? Come on, this probably the only feature of the waste bin that needed to be checked. Its a shame, because otherwise this is a superb little shredder. However, with this design fault I can only give it three out of five Dooyoo stars.
