Tour Montparnasse:
... as only a 59 storey building can do, the Tour Montparnasse (that s Montparnasse Tower to most) is an icon of near-pointless symbolism and the folly of planning arguments. As simple and as graceful as it stands, many Parisians are still unhappy at its presence in the otherwise low-rise area to the south of the City Centre. Towering 210m into the air, and completed in 1972, it remains the tallest building in F... Read the full review: The best views in Paris - if you're brave. by The Daz |

Palace of Culture and Science (Warsaw) ... Poland s betrayal at Yalta by its so called Allies the aftermath of WW11 saw the country fall under the Soviet sphere of influence for a period that would last until 1989. For all the aggressive westernisation that has since followed, the marks of four decades of communism have yet to be completely erased from the face of Warsaw. Of these the most apparent is the Palace of Culture and Science, standing in the heart of the city. You couldn t miss this one if you tried. Soaring 231 metres high into the sky the building remains the tallest in Poland, in spite of recent competition from its highrise neighbours. Originally commissioned by Stalin as a gift from the ... Atomium (Brussels) ... Great idea - let s shrink the visitors down to Sub-Atomic level, and let them wander around an Iron Crystal. Do we have a device we can use to shrink the visitors, and then re-enlarge them later? In 1958 - science was a bit like this. Think of all those wacky ideas to get us colonised on Mars by 2010 and all have personal robots in homes. (Oh the lunacy of it all). Thankfully though, the planners for the 1958 International Exhibition Of Brussels (another convoluted title, and oh look, parentheses!), decided it would be easier to make the Iron Crystal larger and let visitors wander around it without fear of accidental permanent shrinkage. 165 billion times is the factor... Dudhsagar Falls (Goa, India) ... travelled from South Goa ( majorda a small quiet village ) to Dudhsagar Falls around 8 years ago now. At this time this was a wonderful trip filled with excitment and unknown. The taxi drive was a good hour to two hours long and once you arrived at the park you were put into a four wheel drive ( which was very nessessary ) for the slightly hair raising drive to the base of the fall- where you still have a half hour interesting but hard walk to the waterfull. You crossed river over logs and climb through the jungle! Once you reach the water fall you are faces with a huge out crop of rock with a huge powerful water fall with a 20 ft deep pool of freezing cold water whi...
