Castle of Chimay (Belgium) ... on the International Air Cadet Exchange to Belgium a visit to the Castle of Chimay was on our programme. To be quite honest the castle doesn t exactly look like a castle more like a large house as the original moat and drawbridge have been filled in and removed, as the castle itself is still lived in. Being an International Group with a mix of 17 - 20 year olds from 6 different countries we were given a tour around the Castle by the Princess of Chimay. Tours are however available for everybody and are all conducted by the Princess herself. The tour itself takes you into the castles own chapel were you learn a little bit of information about many of the items ... Read the full review: Castle of Chimay by MI9to5 |

Sights & Attractions in Paris in general ... on a budget - everything else So, this is the final review in my series on Paris. I have been trying to prove that you can do Paris on a budget. The simple fact is that I went with 500 euro, and managed to come home with money, even after the duty free!! I still like to think that I got the most out of the city. So far, I have gone through a few of the major attractions in my other reviews (please check them out.). I think that they prove that Paris can be done for very little cash. In this final review I aim to give a few tips out on where to save cash, and a few others attractions that you can also enjoy in the capital. Food & Drink I think that a lot of... Basilique du Sacre Coeur ... on a budget - The basilica of sacre coeur. On our recent holiday to Paris, we set out to take in the capital, but without spending a fortune. We were on a strict budget and tried to take in as much of the culture of one of Europes most beautiful cities. Our Little hotel was in the montmatre region of the capital. Montmartre literally means hill of martyrs and therefore was the only real choice for one of the most striking religous buildings in the world. The Basilica of Sacre Coeur is Montmartre s leading tourist attraction, and it s probably the most-visited church in Paris after the Cathedral of Notre-Dame. Unfortunately, the steps leading up to the basilica are a... Read the full review: Paris on a budget. The sacre coeur by giksy21 |
