I am now going to take you on a tour with the fantastic Beverley Hills tour company. When we went to Los Angeles, I wanted to see one of the beaches and Dave wanted to see some big celebrity homes so this tour offered us both. It was about 6 hours and cost $60 each so as we were strapped for cash on our honeymoon we were dubious about spending the money but it was fantastic and well worth going on. Here is why.
Beverley Hills tours is based in Los Angeles California and we were staying in Hollywood and they picked us up from our hotel. Our Hotel even booked the tour for us and they give you a time to meet them outside. We met our guy at 8am and he was great. He had very big hair and huge glasses and talked very very fast. His name was AJ and AJ if you read this by any chance we thought you were fabulous!!!
He got us to put our straps on and told us a bit about the tour which was looking at famous houses and spots throughout LA and we will have several drop offs. This sounded great. There was about 10 people on the tour including us so we felt like we could ask questions the whole way through. We even met another couple with the same last name, doing the same Honeymoon as us and got married on the same day which was strange.
The tour began with him showing us some celebrity houses including Christina Aguilera and Lauren Conrad. He also showed us Elm Street which looked very creepy and then took us on to see more houses such as David Beckham, the late Michael Jackson, Diane Keaton and Nicholas Cage. Our first stop was at the Beverley Hills sign in which he let us get out the car and he took pictures of all of us for us. So nice of him!
We carried on our journey and throughout the day the spots we saw and drove past were the high school from Grease, the Playboy Mansion and even the house from fresh prince of bell air. They were amazing and although they were huge some of them didn't look as big as you would expect. The funny thing is though that you see nobody walking about apart from all of the workers they all hire to walk their dogs and clean the houses. AJ kept saying lucky dog every time he saw one which we all thought was very funny.
We had a stop at Rodeo Drive which is one of the most exclusive shopping districts in Los Angeles. Some of the shops you have to have an appointment to go into and some have a minimum spend policy just for you to walk through the door so we didn't really rick going in them. We spent a little while walking around and just staring at the really expensive things and wishing that we could afford to shop there. No famous people were spotted though 
Another stop we had was at Santa Monica Pier and this was a very long stop because it was so lovely. It was a cold but sunny day and this s where they filmed The Lost Boys and so many other scenes from films and TV. We walked across the beach, had a walk and something to eat around the pier. I managed to resist going on some rides but I did do a bit of souvenir shopping. We didn't go into the main shopping centre but some people on the tour did and they said everywhere wasjust lovely.
The main bit at Santa Monica pier is covered in trees and it truly does look spectacular. Our tour guide asked us how long we wanted to spend there and was very easy going waiting for people and having a laugh with us all.
Then we had a stop at another beach which was Venice beach and a main tourist attraction. I liked it here as it was a bit funky and there were nice cheap shops and the beach was stunning once again. There was a lot of people trying to force sales on you though which was a bit annoying. Ou5r tour guide again was easy going with us and let us meander for ages. He even showed us where to go as we all wanted to see the muscle men at the outside gym and they were funny.
The tour lasted till just past 2 and he even took us back to Hollywood and the walk of fame, Graumans Chinese theatre and the sign. He was such a good guide and we had such a laugh all day.
I think what you need from a tour guide is someone who knows where they are going and a lot about everything. He had been doing this tour for years and answered all of our questions and chatted freely to all of us all day. I thought the tour showed us a great view of Los Angeles and enjoyed every minute.
I think Beverley Hills tours are quite popular and if you find yourself in LA I would definitely recommend. AJ was fab and I felt very informed when I got back. What a fabulous day and although it seems a lot of money trust me it is worth it. I would go on their full day one if I go back.
Thanks for reading.
