Newest Review: ... in the ticket price. When we visited the lady in the ticket office heard me and my friend speaking in English and, even though we ordered in German, asked which language we preferred the tour in. We explained that English would be better if at all possible, but we were able to speak and understand German. She telephoned the guide to explain that two English speakers were coming, and when we arrived we were given a laminated handout explaining what we were seeing in each room, as the tour (which we shared with two elderly ladies) is only given in German. I recently spent some time in Potsdam, Germany, and while I was there made sure to explore the beautiful Park Sanssouci, which I was fortunate enough to live directly opposite. Less than five minutes from my doorstep was Schloß (palace) Charlottenhof, which was the summer residence of King Frederick William IV of Prussia. Although it is dwarfed by Frederick the Great's summer residence, the magnificent Schloß Sanssouci located in the same park, Charlottenhof makes a great stop if you have less time and want to beat the queues.
