The caves of Drach are situated on the east coast of Majorca - near to Cala Millor - they are one of the most popular excursions on the island. What to expect? The Caves are 25 meters below the surface - they stretch for approx 2400 meters and also inside the caves is one of the biggest underground lakes known as Lake Martel - it stretches 177m long and 30m wide. Also a musical concert take place here with pieces of popular classical music. After the concert you have the chance to enjoy the boat trip on the lake - where you can see more off the Caves illuminated. The tour lasts approx 1 hour and is approx 10 euros per person and ... OK, this was my experience, and doesn't sem to be the same place as described. Travel to and from was easy a buses stop right outside the entrance. Be aware that they only let prople into the caves in groups of about 300 every hour. This is to allow for the 'live classical concert' (more later). So at the appointed time you report to the entrance and will be herded into the caves. I should mention here that photography in the caves is not allowed, and the 'guides' are actually the photography police. The only words they uttered were 'no photography.....stop taking photos' not that at no time was please, thankyou, or any information about the caves ... Read the complete review
