      In my banks hands

Ordered flowers online for Mother's Day, choose a Saturday delivery . The flowers arrived on THURSDAY . I called Fletchers Freesias and spoke to a man, explained the situation. He said that the reason they were delivered early was due to fog in Guernsey, there is no fog, planes are still taking off? He said that he didn't know what my problem was, the flowers had been delivered and they were beautiful, I explained agin that the problem was that they were "Mother's Day" flowers, I had chosen a specific delivery date and that hadn't happened. He then said that they don't accept specific delivery dates, I asked why their online booking system allows you to chose a specific day then? He said again that he didn't know what my problem was. I then said I thought he was being quiet rude, to which he put the phone down! I have now been in contact with my bank to obtain my money back, wouldn't bother with this useless company!

a great place to buy flowers

The Guernsey Freesia Centre is located in the parish of Vale in Guernsey. Although it is known as the Guernsey Freesia Centre it is actually called Fletchers Freesias. The centre is close to another visitors attraction, Oatlands Village, so it is perfect to see both at the same time.

The Freesia Centre started out fifteen years ago when they were a poastal service delivering locally grown freesias to the UK and Ireland. Since then they have opened a shop and allowed visitors to come in and see their flowers growing in the greenhouse.

The greenhouse is full of vibrant coloured freesias and visitors can watch flowers being planted, picked, bunched and boxed before they are sent to the customers across the UK.

The shop is quite small and sells flowers, Guernsey souvenirs and gifts. I have found some nice notebook and pen sets in there before which I have bought for small presents and myself. As the shop is small you would probably find it difficult to get around with a wheelchair or push chair.

The flowers sold are not only freesias but roses and carnations as well. All of the flowers are grown locally on the island. Whenever I buy flowers from here I always go for freesias but it is nice to know that there are other options available if you wish.

When the shop is closed there are freesias sold on the hedge. This is useful if you need an emergency present if you happened to forget an occasion. Not that anyone would ever do that!

The freesia centre is opposite a bus stop so it is easily accessible for visitors to the island.

It is a lovely local shop which sells one of the islands well known flowers. I would recommend a visit even if you just wanted to look.
