Hollywood BoulevardNewest Review: ... the occasional gang can be spotted outside the liquor stores that dot this road. Hollywood Boulevard is famous for it's Walk of Fame - the stars that line the sidewalk and display the names of various celebrities from the entertainment industry who are being honoured for their achievments. I have actually written a seperate review on this particular attraction, so I'm not going to go too ... more |

Hollywood Boulevard is a major road in Los Angeles, California in the famous Hollywood area, the capital of the world's entertainment industry. Despite being immensely famous, not only for it's celebrity associations and it's landmarks, as well as the Walk of Fame, Hollywood is pretty much your average California boulevard in terms of the people that reside there, and the feeling of safety that you have walking down it. Whilst some parts of it arevery nice, others can make one feel a little uneasy, especially at night. I actually stayed on Hollywood Boulevard for a week at the beginning of September, and whilst it certainly has it's draw backs - I really did come to like ... Read the complete review

I was lucky enough to visit LA last year and saw all the key sights and areas, and I can quickly tell you that Hollywood Boulevard is certainly a disappointment in my eyes! The images you see and the things you hear about Hollywood Boulevard and the Walk of Fame are far different to the reality, and the area really is not gamourous and upmarket at all. The street is full of cheap shops and often tatty looking ones at that, and does not compare to the gorgeous Rodeo Drive area of Beverly Hills. I had expected that since the Oscars were on that road the place would be really glam and wreak of money but this is just not the case. The street is more like something ... Read the complete review

So, I think everyone who visits Los Angeles should be told before they go that Hollywood, and in particular Hollywood Boulevard, is not this rich, beautiful, fancy place that everyone thinks it is, then they will not be disappointed when they get there. I lived in America for quite a while, California to be precise and it is quite funny to hear people's perception of area. In 1958, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which runs from Gower Street to La Brea Avenue, was created. The first star was placed in 1960 as a tribute to artists working in the entertainment industry. There are now hundreds of stars and it is really fun to walk up and down the street ... Read the complete review

I never dreamt that I would visit Hollywood, It just wasn't my thing, and I am an idiot for writing this Opinion to tell about it. My sister, Southernbelle, got my family on one of those stupid gameshows that is recorded in Hollywood so my family went to California to be on it. I am not supposed to even mention the show until it runs in June, but I had to fill out these interrogatories for my divorce and I had to put on there that I got money from this show, so since I already let the cat out of the bag I might as well do it in grand style. My family and me were hanging out at the NASCAR cafe in Myrtle Beach and we were arguing about stuff. Actually any ... Read the complete review

Most peoples perception of Hollywood is glitz and glamour, full of movie stars and sunshine. So you would think that Hollywood Boulevard would reflect this, well you couldn't be more wrong. Apart from the Hollywood and Highland complex which houses stores like The Gap and Mann's Chinese thearter the rest of the street is very disappointing. The street is lined with tacky souvenir shops, sex shops and clothing stores which seem to be having closing down sales at 50% off since they opened and yet still aren't any cheaper than anywhere else. It is definitely worth a visit just to see what this place is like, although some parts of the street seem a ... Read the complete review
