Yoyogi Park:
... Park is a huge and lively park in Tokyo. It is free to enter, so you get all kinds of people there. It is close to Harajuku station, so you can see the famous Japanese kids who where gothic clothes, cosply people who base their fashion on Japanese animation characters and the famous rockabillies (Japanese rock and roll dancers with Elvis quiffs). Shinjuku Gyoen ... Gyoen is one of the largest parks in Tokyo and, in my opinion, the best. It used to have links with the Japanese royal family but it is now open to the public with an admission charge of 200 yen. The garden has three styles: English Landscape, French formal and Japanese classical. The English landscape garden looks somewhat like Greenwich Park in London and is popular with families having picnics during spring and autumn. It does get quite crowded as it is the first area that you come to as you enter the main entrance gate. It has a nice view of Tokyo Tower. The French formal part also gets crowded. My recommendation is to venture further into the Japanes... Read the full review: One of the best spaces in Tokyo by nepochan |

Tokyo Tower ... can see as far as mt Fuji! luckily i went on a clear day asn it was a trueley amazing sight to look over the jam packed city then the snow-capped mountain in the background! As i said it was very busy and there is a but of nudging to get to the front to see the views. There are two levels, a lower andd higher, the higher level is the best view for seeing the entire city and views on mt Fuji. As you walk around there is some strange pink cone-head people pictures, not sure what they are about, another quirk to visiting Japan! With in the tower there is some places to shop and eat which are reasonably priced. The tower is open 9am - 10pm When i went it was 820yen/£6... Golden Pavilion ... but must confess this has to be one of my favourites. Set in the northern hills of Kyoto this temple was once part of a larger complex of villas. The Temple site dates back to the 14th century when it was built as a pavilion for the shogun Ashigaka Yoshimitsu for his retirement. It is three storeys high and in the style of traditional Japanese buildings, with the pagoda style roofs on the two top storeys. The exterior of the temple is covered in gold leaf and on the day I visited it was glorious sunshine so the shimmery effect was stunning. However, I am told that even on a dull day the gold is still a stunning sight. The temple was built to show the harmony between ... Read the full review: A Golden Wonder by lellagrace |
