Walked along here in the evenings during our stay in Barcelona, our daughter loved the hustle and bustle and the street entertainers and statues and the little gift stalls, though we never bought anything from them. Its a great place to just stroll and have a seat and a drink and people watch. There are numerous bars and restaurants along here and wall to wall ones actually on the main thoroughfare. The central part is pedestrianised where all the entertainers etc are and then along each side of this the traffic runs up one way and down the other so do be aware of that. There are lots of lovely bars etc just off the main stretch that are ... Read the complete review

The end of September saw my visit to Barcelona to celebrate my 21st Birthday and one of the things we did much to the surprise of many including ourselves was the touristy bit. When you tell people who?ve been before that your off to Barcelona they will tell you about one street in the City, La Rambla. The same can be said for any guide book you look in, this is down as one of the main streets in the City where the sea is linked with the middle of the City. Starting on the sea front (since that’s where we generally started from, and it’s my walk you’re tagging along on here, ok?) we have the Monument a Colom. Now if I tell you that “Colom” is short for “Columbus”, you should be able to figure out what this is. The tower and lifts are open 6 days a week in ... Read the complete review

You've come to the wrong place for a punch-by-punch analysis of Ali vs. Foreman, but La Rambla is just as, if not more, entertaining! The central promenade of Barcelona, a mile in length, stretches from Plaça Catalunya to the port. The magnificent street is chiefly the domain of pedestrians, as the two lanes of crawling traffic and frustrated drivers amply show. A relaxed stroll down the tree-lined walkway is an essential part of any visit to the Catalan city. Locals enjoy regular evening constitutionals here on warm nights; during the tourist seasons, you'll be in the company of thousands of fellow visitors. La Rambla's central location ...
