In 2001 Mr. Mikhail Shemyakin donated his masterpiece called “Children are the victims of adults’ vices” to the city of Moscow. The striking sculptural monument was hard for me to find, so I’ll give you some directions. Take a subway train to Tretyakovskaya subway station. When you go up, ask anybody to show you the way to the Tretyakov Gallery at 10, Lavrushinsky pereulok (pronounced “larv-ROO-shin-ski pee-ree-OO-lok”). When you are in front of the main entrance to the Gallery, turn to your right and you’ll see a bridge across the Yauza river.
