Most people from the UK are likely to sample the Mount Ulriken Cable Car as tourists to Bergen having arrived by the Fjord Line (which also delivers tourists from the Continent via their boat sailing from Denmark) which sails to Bergen (via Haugesund and Stavanger) from Newcastle twice weekly in the winter and thrice weekly in the summer. The cable car runs until fairly late at night so it's an option for round trip passengers on the Fjord Line staying on the MS Jupiter overnight in Bergen.
