Perhaps it's a result of over exposure to Ikea, but everything Nordic seems so elegant, tall and beautiful compared to over budget and over anxious designs we usually come up with in Blighty. A tale of wonder. (Suspension of disbelief not required). From afar, or even on a map, it boggles the mind that such an expanse of busy water could so easily be crossed, and even more astounding to imagine the ingenuity that goes into planning and satisfying environmental concerns to shape an efficient and sensitive structure of this magnitude. Curving gently across the placid waters, the Oresund Bridge is a graceful and masterful testament to Nordic co-operation, engineering prowess, and political and economic will.
