No trip to New York is complete without a visit to Rockefeller Centre and Top of the Rock. We visited New York on honeymoon in January 2009 and having seen it a million times in the films I was eager to see Rockefeller Centre, particularly the ice rink. I wasn't disappointed, it was lovely, especially in the snow. I unfortunately couldn't ice skate myself (pregnant and clumsy, not a good mix!) but we have a great time watching everyone else. I visited New York on a very cold weekend in April 2007, but was very lucky to visit the Rockefeller Center on a clear & crisp day. As time was at a premium over the weekend, we opted to visit The Top of the Rock as opposed to braving the very long queues at the Empire State building, and in retrospect was very glad we did. There was no wait at all to enter, and so within minutes were were at the top of the building on the viewing platform, which affords absolutely amazing views across the whole of Manhatten & beyond.
