The easiest way to get to the Peak is by the Peak Tram. This tram travels the 378 metres up the peak on a system that has been running since 1888. It is very safe and cheap. Lights, Action, Old World vs. New World, Shopping! These were all the things that I had in my mind as I prepared for my 4 day visit to Hong Kong. No visit to Hong Kong would be complete without a trip up the 552-metre high Victoria Peak. Riding the world famous Peak Tram-actually a funicular railway in operation since 1888-along its 1400 metre long route is a truly exhilarating experience which ranks with anything else I've done in my travels around Asia.
