UK Tourists can get to Hong Kong without a Visa for upto 6 months, I arrived at Chek Lap Kok Airport which is a very new airport built on it's own island. So once you Land in Hong Kong you can take public transport into the city, The best way to get to the main attracions would be to use the MTR which is a train metro system covering the island... The day we left Heathrow off on our Honeymoon to China there was, out of the whole aeroplane, just one woman who felt brave enough to publicly declare herself a piggy paranoid petunia by sporting the irksome surgeons mask. They were the latest fashion accessory for the streets of Mexico City and in Spanish speaking Texas at the time, but hadn't really gained a marked popularity amongst us I'm-not-ill-I'm-just-tired British. I wasn't sure if it was for our benefit because she herself was ill or because she thought the rest of us were Oinky but she did look a little silly, and even more so when she took the mask off to go to sleep before putting it back ... Upon arrival I was in awe of the surroundings that encompassed me. I had never seen such a mixture that seemed to work so well together. The neon lights, the high buildings, the harbour, the buzz, the smells wafting around. I began exploring immediately, fascinated by the structure, engulfed by the beauty. The beaches, the islands, the mountains, the city, the night markets, the calm, the busy, all rolled into one spectacular place. Backstreets filled with mysteries, villages built on stilts, I continued exploring the attractions. Full of mixed cultures, it felt like home. It was love at first sight. There are many places in Hong Kong to visit, both on the ... Read the complete review

I was lucky enough to visit Hong Kong for a few days in May 2006 and although I unfortunately didn't have time to do everything that I would have liked to, I did manage to cram in as much as possible and thoroughly enjoyed my trip. Here are a few of the attractions and sights that I would recommend that you go and see if you are planning a trip to Hong Kong. 1) The Star Ferry. Not just a form of transport - this amazing ferry has been going between Hong Kong and Kowloon island for over 100 years! It is a very efficient service and ferrys run every 6 - 10 minutes throughout the day. I really loved the Star Ferry and would class it as a tourist ... Read the complete review

Lights, Action, Old World vs. New World, Shopping! These were all the things that I had in my mind as I prepared for my 4 day visit to Hong Kong. All that I knew about Hong Kong came from movies that stared Jackie Chan or James Bond. Was it a Fairy Tale illusion?? ~Arrival~ Upon landing at Hong Kong International airport, I prayed that the pilot would make sure and turn the correct way as the airport is located on a reclaimed island mass. The water's edge is easily seen as your land! Immigration was quick and easy. There was the standard immigration card to fill out which was given to us before we even boarded the plane. So, I had it filled out ... Read the complete review
