Sights & Attractions in Las Vegas in generalNewest Review: ... doesn’t last too long, but it is worth seeing, just to wonder at the technology that goes into this! As we stood and looked at this spectacle above our heads I realised my neck was starting to creek, with having stood there with jaw hanging open for too long! As the show ends, the busy precinct starts to get moving again, and this is a busy place, with thousands of visitors packed into the area, and of course along with it brings the ‘not so nice’ characters! There is a lot of crime committed here, and one of them being pick pocketing, so hold on to your purses and wallets! Downtown has had more of it’s fair share of shootings etc. ov... more |

Downtown Las Vegas! I had some American friends whom I met up with….and we decided to do ‘Downtown’! We met at the far northwest corner of downtown, in the Main Street Station. Main Street Station Main Street Station was very authentic and their many antiques with detailed craftsmanship was nice to see, but as usual, the never ending slot machines and games tables tend to take your eye away from these! Everything from stained glass window (one that was given to the singer/actress Lillian Russell (popular in the 1880's) by "Diamond Jim" Brady. The doors are bronze, and beautiful Chandeliers (one which once hung in the ... Read the complete review

Even the most hardened Vegas-addict needs the occasional break from the fast flow of neon, dollars and anything else that you want. Vegas offers everything man has created and that comes in abundance. What is somewhat less available, but my soul begins to crave after around 72 hours is a little immersion in nature. So if you feel the same - then fear not an escape to Red Rock Canyon could be just what you are after. What is Red Rock? ______________ No it has no relation to that alcohol in a bottle - but by contrast, it is red and it does have rocks in it! Set in the Mojave Desert, this canyon is full of living things. Look ... Read the complete review

Okays...here's what not to miss. We spent two weeks there via an Airtours package deal in December. Weather was very good. Warm with blue skies and it wasn't crowded. 1) The Grand Canyon. You cannot go to Las Vegas and not take an excursion to the Grand Canyon. Only 1-4 hours away depending on method of transport and a truly memorable experience! 2) Hotels: MGM, Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, New York - New York, Ceasars Palace, Venetian, Luxor, Paris...all highly recommended! First class service and very nice hotels! Avoid: Circus-Circus & Excalibur - we found them to be dingey and dull. Circus, is also not based in a very nice part of the ... Read the complete review

Suspend reality and you'll get the best out of Las Vegas. Treat the place seriously and you'll have a terrible time. Get into the swing of it and Vegas is Blackpool on acid! Planing a trip is easy. You can either go down the package route or plan it yourself. Virgin Holidays are especially good for package deals. However, planning it yourself can give considerable savings and part of the enjoyment of the holiday can be the planning. Virgin Atlantic has the only diect flights from the UK - other airlines tend to go via Los Angeles (handy for a stop-over?) and then it's only a 1 hour flight to Vegas. To get a bargain make sure you book ... Read the complete review
