When we visited Berlin we spent a very fun day at Babelsberg film park. On moving to Germany I looked into any others in the country, and found the ** BAVARIA FILM STADT **, just outside of Munich. We were in the city last month, and this seemed like the perfect way to spend on of those annoying everything-else-shut bank holidays. We arrived about an hour after opening to find the park almost deserted – it seemed everyone was taking the tour at that point. Some thoughts and recollections on living and working abroad. You might be forgiven for thinking it absurd that someone could actually forget his or her mother tongue. When I first moved to Germany, as a result of a job posting, another English colleague had already been there for three years. In conversation he would search for a word, claiming to know the German equivalent but unable to remember the English. I mean, ash tray, of all words. For Heaven's sake!
