Advantages: It is the Statue of Liberty!!

Disadvantages: Queue, queue, queue

I made a day trip to Statue of Liberty recently. It is located on an island not far from Manhattan Island, where the glamorous New York City is build on. From Manhattan Island, you take a ferry ride for about 20 minutes. The queue of quite long. I was standing under the sun for 30 minutes. Apply sun-block, there are more sunshine to come! Hot it may be, there boring it is not. There were a lot of street artists performing. I saw free acrobatic performance for 20 minutes!!

While on the ferry, besure to go to the top floor, and occupy a seat just next to the side. You be glad to have nice view for taking picture, and without people blocking. The best view of the statue is taken from here, on the ferry. Once on the island, is it impossible to capture a complete view of the statue.

There are people selling drinks, really huge one, contained in a plastic glass of the shape of Lady Liberty. I think it is 1.5 feet in height!! After making circle around the statue, start to queue up to go up to the crown. This will test you patient as the queue is usually very long, but the trip up is worth it.

Then visit the souvenir shop and off you go.
