For a return trip - might I suggest the splendidly unmodernised cable car that wobbles its way across the vast drop of the port below, and across to a landing tower in the harbour area - adjacent to the Yachting Club (a dinner jacket would be required for entry...). ... more |

Should you go to Barcelona, which you should as it is thoroughly excellent, then you may find, after a few days of hectic sightseeing down in the basin of the city, that you come over all worn out and feel the need for a break. You could, if you like that sort of thing, head to the beach and sizzle in the Mediterranean rays. Or, considering you can achieve a similar state of near-cancerous lethargy in Torquay these days, instead potter on up to Montjuic and see the stunning Botanical Gardens. Yes, Yes - boring plants and trees I hear you cry. Fine...stay down on Las Ramblas and spend all your money on miniscule 'tourist tapas' portions and play the visitors game of ...
