I went to Wroclaw in Poland and had a lovely time. Wroclaw is an up and coming city with a town square, bars and restaurants. The thing I liked most about Wroclaw was that in the midst of this city is the beautiful tranquil Cathedral Island.

Cathedral Island can be reached by a series of pretty little bridges running over the River. The Island itself isn't really an island because it can be reached by the mainland the other side but it has the appearance of an island because of the river.

The island is the centre of Wroclaw's religious life. There is a beautiful cathedral that can be seen from miles around. The Pope visited in 1997 and it is well loved by the locals. It is absolutley stunning! There are 2 more cathedrals in the island hence the name.

You should visit the island in early evening as well as during the day as it is beautuful when it is lit up at night. The main cathedral as lit up at night and so is the main street. It makes a beautiful picture from the mainland.

Cathedral Island is a must see if you're in Wroclaw. Have a walk around the many paths on the isalnd, it's lovely.
