relaxed atmosphere in a crazy city (Vondel Park)

I have lived in Amsterdam for 4 years. Vondel Park will always remain a very special place to me. It is the perfect place to go in the summer and just sunbathe (weather permitting!) and to meet friends. In the middle of the park there is a small cafe, where you can enjoy a delicious coffee whilst taking in the sights and sounds of the park.
During the spring many people perform at the open air theatre.

Amsterdam can be very hectic and busy, so the Vondel Park is the perfect place just to unwind. The vondel park is very near the centre of the city, and there are many small hotels dotted around the neighbourhood. I reccommend to stay in one of these hotels as it is less noisey and more relaxed.
There are many more parks in Amsterdam, Westerpark is also very nice, but this is by far my favourite.

Summary: a great place to visit and enjoy a coffee in the sunshine!
